The connection between Blind Melon and Andrew Bird is this: He was one of the guys that Jim Mathis (The Squirrel Nut Zippers) brought to my house, in New Orleans, to record the Songs for Rosetta record (this was several years before Andrew became well known.) He also called Stu Cole (The Squirrel Nut Zippers), Greg Bell (The Chicken Wire Gang), Joe Tullos, Pat Sansone (Birdy), and Hawkeye (independent), and a couple of horn players from the French Quarter. I called John Sinclair and got him to the session to read his poem about Charlie Patton. -That's the extent of it. Glen ---- Andrew also appeared on Brad's first solo project, Abandon Jalopy "Mercy", playing fiddle for "She's an Original" ---- Andrew's official site: www.andrewbird.net/

Just got Andrew Bird's "Break It Yourself" in the mail yesterday. It sits right next to my AJ "Death & Joy" in my cd player!
