Are you kidding me? This is amazing news!
So Scorsese finished a documentary about one Bob (Dylan), and now he is moving on to a documentary about another Bob (Marley)!
I will eagerly be awaiting this film in 2010. #smiliebounce#

I read that yesterday too, I wish they would've waited a little while longer to announce it, now I have two years to wait.

Yeah, no shit, huh!?! That's a long time to wait! I wonder if the Marley family will let unseen footage be released to Scorsese. As a fan I like to think every band has a huge vault of unreleased material and footage that will evgentually get released . This could be one of those times, if there is still footage yet to be seen. And I can only imagine if Martin Scorsese is going to put together a Bob Marley documentary, then he is not just going to repeat what has been done before: Soul Rebel, Time Will Tell, Caribbean Nights, Spiritual Journey, etc. I am excited about this. Even though there are plenty of Bob docs outs there, none of them truly do him justice.

That sounds fantastic... Scorsese does the best docos, No Direction Home is genius... Moreso the docos in the "Martin Scorsese Presents The Blues" series (i highly recommend)... They are fairly straightforward...
There is another doco maker, Grant Gee, who is an extremely talented, experimental doco maker... his ones are more like films, but very art-like... he did one on Radiohead, and has one coming out on Joy Division...

I am a HUGH Bob Marley fan and Scorsese is one of the best ever! When I was living in Jamaica for a few summer with my grandparents in 2001 (they are missionaries) I visited the Marley home. The setting was beautiful and it was amazing to be standing in a place he had been. You couldn't take pics past a certain point because of all the pot growing around the place, which I thought was perfect for the Bob Marley museum! LOL
