We have it in our dvd collection. The story is pretty f'd up, huh?

Yeah, it's pretty absurd. I watched it for the first time last week and I cant believe I had never heard of it, it's exactly the type of story I'm into (especially knowing it's a true story

)

I recommend reading the book too, it's so much better and they omited a lot of stuff for the movie (as is usually the case).

Any recommendations on movies/books as good as this one? I hate it when I finish an awesome book and the next one doesn't even compare.

One of the best movies I have seen.. Saw it for the first time in 2000 and have seen it many times after that. Kevin Bacon's character is really disgusting and the whole story is really sad but with alot of great actors..
Great movie that I think everyone should watch.

I can't stand Kevin Bacon's character in the movie, he makes me sick. I'm afraid to read the book because I know the movie always cuts stuff out from the book and I'm afraid the book will get really detailed into what the guards did to the boys. I can't handle reading about that kind of stuff. The movie played enough with my emotions, I think the book would really get to me.

Shana, I cant stand Kevin Bacon either, something about him freaks me out too but Sleepers was the first movie that I thought suited him perfectly... It made me want to beat him to death with a baseball bat!!
