well it is the same as rockstar: Inxs where singers compete to be the lead singer for the band... JD Fortune won last year... This year the band is called Supernova which is made up of Tommy Lee, James Newsted and Gilby from Guns 'n Roses... It has a similar competition format to idol, but they sing only rock songs and each week they get a chose and they have to fight for the songs they want to do... it is much better than idol, but sometimes there are some real rockstar wannabees that really try too hard to be rock but you can tell their pop...

I think the band Supernova they are making on this garbage show is sooooo lame and Tommy Lee sucks to back that up, I wouldn't buy an album by them if I had a gun to my head and also wouldn't watch a show showing the making of such a joke band.
