I don't think we could get anyone worse than Bush. He's such an idiot.

It's hard to imagine anyone worse than Bush. The war is a disaster...we are teetering on the brink of a recession...he's made so many funding cuts to social programs...I could go on but I don't even want to think about it to be honest.

I stopped watching the news because of him. I can't stand what has happened with this war and to our country.

A slovenian who lives in the states told me that in U.S.A., they don't even show everything about Irak on TV, that we see in Europe. They don't talk as much about it as here in the first place, and when they do talk about it, they don't show all the bad images we can see here, he said american media is very manipulated by the goverment. Maybe it makes me a bit less suprised so many people voted Bush although it's not an excuse. Like my friend said, there are people who simply believe everything they see on TV and others who will look further.

Our media is totally manipulated. The information is out there, you just have to take the time to look for it. They weren't even allowed to show images of coffins of dead American soldiers for awhile. It's like they didn't want the public to know how many soldiers were dying over there. They NEVER show images of what actually happens in Iraq. They know if people see it they will demand for the war to stop. It was the same in Vietnam. The government had the media manipulating people by lying about body counts and lying about how unsuccessful the war really was. They wouldn't even call Vietnam a "war" here for a long time. They would only refer to it as a "conflict". Some conflict...
Anyway, it's true about the media and their lack of true coverage on the war (among other things). The problem is that most Americans don't even seem to give a shit that it happens. One thing the media never reports is the protests that are happening all of the time. I think they are afraid that if people know other people are protesting that they might join in and revolt.

One thing the media never reports is the protests that are happening all of the time. Yes! They don't show that here either. I don't know if it's because american media doesn't report it and we're too lazy to use other sources or because european media wants europeans to believe that americans are more ok with Bush than they really are. I think europeans' opinion about americans got MUCH worse since Bush's goverment is up and it sucks that it creates a general image for so many people.
