Hey Melons, Check out this music map website. They use the name of a band in the middle of the screen and then they loosely float other band names around the original to say how likely that fans of group A are fans of group B. That looks pretty accurate. They've even got Stabbing Westward and Mindless Self Indulgence floating around.
But where's Jane's Addiction?

I've been playing with it a little bit and it's been giving me some decent recommendations of stuff I've never heard before. I'm looking up the recommendations on myspace music.

That will work out great for finding new bands that I might not be familiar with or had forgotten them.I'm always sampling music.Most of the time I don't like what I hear & don't ending up downloading anything new.I'm gonna use that to shorten my search time for awhile.

interesting....I populated Medeski, Martin & Wood in the search and got a lot of jazz and classical music associations....I then populated MMW into the search field and primarily got jamband music associations....tho medeski martin & wood and mmw are one in the same and those who enjoy mmw probably enjoy jazz, jamband and classical music in some form or another...
