hey avett brothers fans I don't know if any of you are on their website mailing list but apparently they played a live streaming show online. Anyway I was pretty bummed cause I didn't check my email early enough and missed the show but then I went to their website and they have a archived video of the show that you can download. Theres also a lot of other artists on there (even some rasputina 4 mere) anyways heres the link I'm enjoying the show right now with 4 others downloading. www.woodsongs.com/showlist.asp

So the Avett Bros are coming to Dallas in November and to be honest I havent even heard enough of their stuff.
How are they live? Is it pretty good to dance to? Does it get pretty crowded?
The only reference I have of theirs is how much some of you talk about them and the 2 or 3 songs Ive heard so far. Considering I pretty much share your music taste, I think I'll enjoy it.

are you allergic to cats? the bumper isn't the thing I'm worried about its my right blinker, though there is a light in it it isn't exactly a real blinker per se. as for the present, I want to be stoked but christmas is so far away my brain would explode if I started to really think about it

I can't help it, all I do is think about what I can buy for people when I'm at work. It makes my head hurt too.
and yes, I'm allergic to cats. I'm usually not to bad around my two but when I'm around other cats it's over. Dogs are worse ;/ As long as I don't get their fur near my face I'm cool.
GO TO THE VIDEO THREAD, HURRY! #lmao#

How are they live? Is it pretty good to dance to? Does it get pretty crowded? They are definitely an awesome live band. Their shows have the high energy of a punk rock show even though they aren't punk music. The vibe is fun and you can dance to their music. I don't know if it will be crowded in Dallas, all I know is that in North Carolina they are super popular and sell out relatively large venues. They aren't as well known out west so it's hard to estimate how many people will show up. If you can afford to go I would say DEFINITELY GO! Their show is worth every penny you'll spend on your ticket, it's a steal. For their next headlining show in NC with no opening band, we are paying $35/ticket. It looks like tickets in Dallas are $15-$20 and that covers a few bands. Sounds like a great deal to me...plus it seems like Will Hoge is headlining that night and there are quite a few members here who can vouch for him too. If this tells you anything, Greg and I discovered them at the end of April...we've already seen them twice (once at an in-store and one real show) and now we've got tickets to see them twice in September (we'll be driving 90 minutes to one show and 5 HOURS one-way to another show. Then at the end of December we're driving 5 HOURS one-way to see them play two nights up in the mountains in Asheville, NC. We wouldn't go to all of that trouble to see them if their live shows didn't deliver. If you visit their forum at www.theavettbrothers.com you'll see how many people get addicted to their live shows and drive hours and hours to see them. There was a venue in Tuscon, Arizona who recently promised a money back guarantee on Avett Brothers tickets. The venue was so convinced that people would love them that they were willing to risk losing money in order to get people to take a chance on them. As it stands so far, there were no refunds issued after that show.

gab check the link I posted it will give you and idea of the live shows cause its a video. Greg and I were watching this last night and we thought they seemed a little more subdued than what you would see at a typical live show in a club. They are a little more toned down, maybe b/c it's a radio show. It's still a great video though. Looks like Scott is growing his beard again...now Seth needs to follow suit. Avett beards rock! #rock#
