Sweeeet bogo! We're going to see them in Raleigh tonight. They are famous for breaking strings. Usually it's Scott (banjo) that's breaking them. Seth (guitar) must have been having a good time! ;D How did you like The Wood Brothers? It's too bad you missed MMW, but you know you'll get to see them again sometime soon. The Wood Brothers won't come around as much. Sounds like you had an awesome time!

.......and here's a link to a video that Greg took with our digital camera of the song Distraction #74. You'll see plenty of my hands getting into the shot b/c I was dancing like a drunken fool.

The band is holding a contest for the best photos and videos from last night's show. We entered our best photos and our 2 videos. Wish us luck! ;D There will be two winners (one photo and one video), each will receive a t-shirt and a signed, limited edition CD from the Philadelphia show on May 11th. In addition, the winning photo will be posted in the "news" section of the website for one week.

Good luck. I hope one of your photos and videos win the contest! Your pics are great! It looks like you had a kick-ass time at the show! We'll have to check phook, etree and tapetraders to see if anyone recorded it. What venue was the show at?

The venue was the North Carolina Museum Art (NCMA). I just found out that we didn't win the picture contest. Apparently they were looking for something a little more "artsy" than what we took. Here's what they chose.

Awesome Kevin, thanks for posting that! Seth needs to grow his beard back out like he has in the pic. I dig the mountain man look.

Even Greg is envious Seth's beard and he can grow an impressive beard. I think Avett hair grows about 5 times thicker and faster than the rest of the male population.

Shana, how far is Gainesville from you? The boys will be playing there on Nov. 11th. So far that's the only upcoming FL show.

One of the northwest’s premiere music festivals, the annual gathering focuses on indie-Roots music, a genre the Pickathon Roots Music Festival defines as the subjective and diverse intersections of indie-rock, singer/songwriter, and a variety of traditional music styles (i.e. Bluegrass, Blues, Folk, Country, Swing, etc.). This summer the festival will expand to three days, boasting a diverse mix of artists including the Avett Brothers, The Wood Brothers, The Gourds, Erin McKeown, Dale Watson, Gregory and the Hawk, Martha Scanlan, Handsome Family, Langhorne Slim, Horse Feathers, Chatham County Line, Jason Webley and Hacienda Brothers, among others. As part of the warm-up to the 2007 festival, Pickathon also created the first ever festival video game entitled Lob Stuff at the Lurker, which is now available online. The festival’s inaugural offering was nominated for the 2007 "Festie" award in the category of Most Scenic Festival Setting. For more information please visit www.pickathon.com .
