I have only heard a little bit of his solo work. Some of it is really weird and not as accessible as his music with RHCP. I don't know album or song names yet, so I can't really say which ones I like, and which ones I don't.
I do know that I think he is downright awesome! Stadium Arcadium is definitely more pop than previous albums, but I still really like it. I think it blends, pop, punk, and funk in a really unique way. (And of course Rick Rubin deserves some credit in regards to that as well). There might be many guitarists who are better in regards to "technique" and whatnot. But I think Frusciante is one of the best, if not THE best guitarist when it comes to playing with "emotion". He has a way of channeling his emotion into his instrument to make it say things that few others can even come close to.

He's one of my favorite guitarists. I think the Chili Peppers are at their best when he's playing with them...he brings something to their music that's magical.

Everyone needs John Frusciante in their lives imo. The world really would be a far better for it. His words, his music, his imagination and his soul are just simply stunning. Obviously most people only recognise John as being in the Chilis and that's all fine and good, but John has an amazing body of solo work that is polar opposite to the music he creates with Ant, Flea and Chad and it really should be heard and appreciated by a lot more people.
Here are the titles of his solo albums if anyone is interested -
Niandra Las Des and Usually Just A T-shirt Smile From The Streets You Hold To Record Only Water For Ten Days Shadows Collide With People The Will To Death DC EP Inside Of Emptiness Curtains A Sphere In The Heart Of silence with Josh Klinghoffer Automatic Writing with Josh Klinghoffer and Joe Lally
if anyone would like to hear any of John's stuff then please fell free to pm me.
OK I think maybe I have sold John quite enough!

I've liked his music for about three or four years now. i just love the vibes and stuff that come out of the music and everything you can feel the passion in his voice and it sounds really cool and different from most music in the world. (sorry if that sounds weird, I'm not really thinking straight today)

my old smoking buddy worshipped john frusciante and got me really into him for a while too.
I think hes definately underappreciated in terms of how talented he actually is.
