yes i heard that he specifically asked MTV to show more shots of him smiling because he had been getting mail from a concernd fan who would say that he should try to smile more... or maybe he was just happy

From what I've read in books, Kurt was actually in a much better place when he "killed himself" (Read "Love and Death" please!) He had decided to leave Courtney, take Frances with him to Europe ( I think) and he had just found the cause of his stomach pain that he'd been struggling with for years. Although I don't know the exact timeline of these events, the Unplugged was shot in Nov so he actually could have been happier.

I don't think he killed himself...I'm one of the believers that Cuntney Love is behind it all.

Again, just before he killed himself I read an interview with Nirvana in Kerrang. I said at the time that it was the most postitive and happy I had ever heard any person from a band being, let alone Kurt. He sounded so lucid, calm and just sooooo positive. I am 99% sure I still own that edition, I'm gonna look for it now and if there are definitive Kurt moments in it that I'm sure there are, I'll post them for anyone who may wish to read it.

Did anyone read "Who Killed Kurt Cobain?" or "Love and Death" by Ian Halperin and Max Wallace . I swear she had him killed. There are way too many coincidences for it to have a suicide.

i don't know but if he did kill himself it wasn't because the fame and shit, didn't he say he was depressed since he was a kid when his parents divorced? and high school made it worse and shit? so if he was depressed when he was a kid and didn't get help it could have turned into deep depression... but he could have been happy and stuff but someone killed him, not saying Courtney but she could have had something to do with it

Isn't it strange to imagine him being 40 years old? It's impossible for me to imagine.
This has nothing to do with his birthday or whether or not Courtney killed him (which I'm tired of hearing about, btw), but does it bother anyone else to see a bunch of 13 year olds walking around in Nirvana shirts they bought at Hot Topic? I don't meant to sound elitist or claim they're unworthy of listening to the music, but half of the ones I encounter don't seem to truly relate to the music or have any clue what it's really about. Most can't even name songs that weren't hit singles. They wouldn't make the effort to buy the shirts if they weren't easily available at the mall. I saw a girl on that MTV show MADE wearing the shirt with Kurt's suicide note on the back and she wanted to become a cheerleader so she could "be like everyone else, have friends, and fit in." It just seemed a bit hypocritical. Sorry, major rant here.

I hear you. But I used to buy a different Doors tshirt everytime I went to the mall when i was 16 (and free). There was a store called World Imports in my local mall for a long time and they had all the rock tshirts there. I bought my fair share of Guns n Roses t-shirts at that store as well.
