Ok...I obviously got this idea from Christian's thread. My first mention is Dog's Eye View. These guys are excellent, although they fell off the face of the earth. The song writing and lyrics are incredible. They fall into the same type of catagory and song writing style as Counting Crows. Check them out if you can! PS - If you do a search and come up with "Everything Falls Apart", don't bother.. I would compare that to "Mr. Jones" and "No Rain". Just a song that put them into the MTV spotlight. "Wish You Were Here" would be my recommendation. Here is their MySpace site.. Has a view songs. www.myspace.com/dogseyeview

Blind Melon is VERY under-rated but besides them I'd have to say the most under-rated is definately JJ Cale. Man it's not even funny how under-rated this guy is. He wrote "Cocaine", "After Midnight", "Call me the Breeze" and other that were not hits for him but when other artists covered them they were. He's famous among musicians but not to the general public which is a shame. Just doesn't get enough credit for his work...........

Danko Jones are very underrated.Saw them 3 years ago at this festival in Finland and it was by accident..I was watching The 69 Eyes but after like 3 songs i had enough so i went looking for my friends and just happened to walk by the stage where Danko Jones were playing. Great band! Their Born A Lion album is REALLLY good!.

Mondo Generator- Nick Oliveri's band, he was the guitarist for such bands as Kyuss, & Queens of the Stone Age. Josh Homme writes some good music but since Nick was kicked out of the band before Lullabies to Paralyze, QOTSA lost something on that album, maybe the drug induced mad scientist that is Nick Oliveri was a key ingredient. Hopefully Josh & Nick work together again. FYI- Josh Homme and Eddie Vedder are working with the Strokes for a new single coming out later this year to be on the next Strokes album.

As for Melon being under-rated, that's the under-statement of the century, just if more people would remove there heads from there asses, Soup could of/ should of been the top selling album of 95.
