I was always wondering about this. He doesn't even look like the same person toward the end of his life. Very drastic changes over a short period of time.

The very first picture is how I think of Shannon when I remember him, he did change his look a lot but that was my favorite.

I've often wondered this too. I also have to agree with Meredith - the first picture is how what first comes to mind when I think of Shannon.

Is it me or does his voice also change? He seems to be struggling in the later shows on many songs, singing them in a lower key. This may have something to do with his health at that point as well, but he seems to have a much "fresher" and more dynamic voice in the earlier years.

The second picture I posted is the image of him I always carry around in my head; and it's a shame that the photos of him right before his death he had severe black puffy bags under his eyes, probably from several 24 hour cocaine binges and not sleeping well on the road.

I'm pretty sure the dark circles under his eyes were makeup.

Nah they were more like black bags and you can notice them big time in the "Toes across the floor" video, as well as that unplugged concert they did a few months before he died.

the first is what i think about 2 man. thats the shannon i've always had close to my heart. i meet a boy who looks just like he did in the first one. it was the only reason i talked to him, the first time i saw him my heart dropped. i always liked him better with the long hair.

I didn't care for his hippie look very much cause it made him look old and creepy.

I think the way Shannon looked in the "I Wonder" video was super cool! My personal fav.

That's a good example of what I meant by the "old and creepy" look, because dude was in his mid 20's in that video and looks like a 50 something year old hippie or mountain man which is not who or what he was.

This is how I will always envision and remember Shannon, because it's how he looked when he started out in music and how he finished up looking near the time of his death.

I'm remembering him the same way as you are, Chrispy0515.

I picture him with his "No Rain" look. Long hair, healthy, happy, and carefree. At least that is always how he came across to me when he looked like that. I like his short hair too and often picture the "Metro" look when I think of him. Depends on my mood, I guess. He was amazing either way.
