Oh man, I hope one of the guys can read this and confirm it. I don't see how that can be our Blind Melon.....but nothing surprises me with this band, they have all kinds of tricks up their sleeve. that's really strange...I hope they didn't embarrass us. If they did, we might hafta go sue-happy on 'em. 3 songs mixed, 16 to go......

Blind Melon to Reunite for Fall Tour Written by mike greenhaus Wednesday, 05 September 2007 www.relix.comThe remaining members of Blind Melon will reunite for a short tour this October. Following the untimely death of singer Shannon Hoon in 1995, the group auditioned a number of different singers and even tried to carry on with bassist Brad Smith on lead vocals, but ultimately parted ways. According to a statement from the band, there was never a consideration to reform Blind Melon until the group met singer Travis Warren, who will fill-in for Hoon this fall. In addition to its fall shows, Blind Melon will return to the studio to complete its first album since the mid-1990s. "We're going to road-test the new album but we're also going to play all the old songs that we love,” drummer Glenn Graham says. “The ones that gave us this opportunity." The group’s fall tour will open October 7 at Providence, RI’s Club Decibel before making stops at New York’s Canal Room (10/9),Cleveland’s The Grog Shop (10/11), Columbus’s The Basement (10/13), Bowling Green, OH’s Howard’s Club H (10/14), Chicago’s Double Door (10/16), Urbana, IL’s The Canopy (10/18), Toledo, OH’s Frankie’s (10/19), Pittsburgh, PA’s Diesel (10/20) and Allston, MA’s Harpers Ferry (10/22). link to article at Relix.com

You can say that again. People have so much anger these days. Why would you spend time to comment on something if all you had to say was negative (and naive)?

I can understand where thay are coming from. It would be like creating an All Acoustic Indie Forum and then having some dude post an article about Slayer on it.
The thing is.. the band got exposure on another site. There are actually people interested now... some of which may not have heard about the reunion if it wasn't for that site. Some of those cats are hitting the shows now. Here's to 'em!

the people who are saying that BM is not a metal band i can see. The others who there just hating, i don't know - seems like wasted energy. Plus, the Spin Doctors comment was annoying

Can you expect too much civility from someone called Bastard Fetus Eater? Karma my friend....spending that much life energy putting out negative stuff will not do anything but make people feel bad. Not for me! I like to stay here with my sweet melonhead friends and exchange exaltations!!! ( is that a real word? Sorry if its not)

Plus, the Spin Doctors comment was annoying Yea, but... you have to expect that sort of reaction coming from people who have ZERO knowlege of Blind Melon. I read something somewhere like "Ok... So Blind Melon will be opening up for Nirvana and Mother Love Bone this winter?" Lame comments coming from people who don't like the band, and never did.. That's exactly what they are doing at that other site.

I agree, but it does seem stupid to spend time trashing a band they know zero about.. I wouldn't bother if I didn't like them. To each his own...

"To each is own..." waksamcat3, pretty much. I frequent Blabbermouth, there's news on there sometimes that is interesting. What I've noticed about most of the posters is they are looking to stir up shit with other people. Blabbermouth is a site driven by violent, ignorant music, populated by generally violent, ignorant people. Mostly very young. I'm no saint, I went through a phase in my life where I fit right in line with them. I still like some of the music, though lately I just can't stomach it, if I'm in the right mood, crave the punchy, tight, heavy riff, I'll still throw on some Pantera or whatever. I respect Dimebag for his guitar playing, his personality, well, not so much. I still remember some of the shit he pulled while he was alive, which has been overshadowed in his death. Not being shitty and dissing a legend, and he is a legend, but I have to stare reality in the face when I look in the mirror and admit things out loud many people would not dare. The thing that cracks me up about him specifically, is if you listen to a lot of his guitar solo's real close, alot of his heavy riffs, it's so drenched in country music, direct cops of country chops, it's hilarious to me these haters on there of southern tinged rock(such as Blind Melon) who rave about his playing. Again with the ignorance.....But I degress, as waksamcat3 said, to each is own....
