Steriogram started to take off a little. Then they decided to release their 2nd single. A song called "Tsunami." Then a real tsunami happened and they were dead in the water. Wow!! That's not really funny. Anyways, my wife and I have seen them in our favorite little club a few times, The Machine Shop. And I must say they are really good live.

If there is one I dislike about Blind Melon is that they have ruined all other music for me and I mean that seriously. Yes there have been a few songs or cd's that have grabbed me for a little while but nothing sticks like BM. All these years later and the music still sounds so fresh to me. I have looking for second coming of a band like BM for a loooong time but have not found it yet. The only band that has made any impression on me is Shinedown and that is because of the depth of the lyrics and passion that the singer has for what he is doing. they are a little heavy for my taste at this point in life but their peformance on strippedmusic.com really impressed me. Check out their version of U2's "One".

I listen to alot of bands, and my wife and I go to alot of shows. But Blind Melon has "my band" for what seems like forever now. I know what you mean when you say you're waiting for another band to come along that will make that kind of impact. I keep waiting to "out grow" Blind melon and move on to someone else. Now, I don't have to.

In my opinion they're classic rock in the way that something classic never gets old, ya know? They are kind of changing my view on what I consider to be classic rock. Nobody else sounds like Blind Melon, that's what I love about them. Sure you can hear their influences in their music, but I still consider them to be completely original. I'm so happy they're back!

listen to Big Star - these days you can get 2 albums on one disc "Radio City" and "#1 Record" .....to me, if we were born in a different era, we might've sound something like them (at the risk of sounding presumtious). Travis kinda reminds me of the singer sometimes. 2 guitars, great drumming.......

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll definetly check them out. "If we were born in a different era, we might've sound something like them"...That's a good enough endorsement for me! YUP

I wasn't saying there weren't any good bands out right now, but a majority suck, the good music is few and far between lately. I do have a thing for Panic! At the disco and I have no idea why......I just noticed that Rock is really making a come back and I think its all just perfect timing!

I kinda like Painic! At the Disco as well. I get a ton of flack from my pals for it. That's ok though, they've always given me greif about the bands I obsess over. Right now it's Street to Nowhere.

I saw a live performance on tv the other day of Panic! and they were appauling... the guy cannot sing... his voice must have been tampered with significantly with computers to bring out an album... sorry to the fans, but i just though they were plain Mili Vanilli stuff...

A good friend of mine saw them live and said they were fantastic. Maybe they just had a bad day. I've been to enough shows to know that it happens.

woooo Mark and Foreverlights GO SHIHAD! I remember seeing them at the Big Day Out 1996, and 2001, and I think another one too...and at the Victoria University orientation. Pacifier was a bloody stupid name for the American market...to most American people that's the thing parents stick in the baby's mouth to make it stop crying (Yes a Dummy!) I remember when I was in the States 2004 for the vigil I saw the iPod commerical that had Steriogram Walkie Talkie man on it and I got all excited but everyone was like Steriowho?? that's just the iPod commercial band... Stoked to be getting some recommendations here on decent music. I can't even remember the late time I bought a new CD or found new music I like. I believe it was the Phoenix Foundation, kiwi band, I'm sure Mark knows them ola Gabby minha amiga, eu te amo! you never replied to my last email...what's a poor kiwi to dooooo
