I can't wait to downoad that interview to my ipod. I listened to it twice last night. I'm fascinated by it.
And I went from total peaked interest to near tears when he said
"If we don't make it, it will be becasue we fucked up somehow."
I was reading the "What Rogers said in 1997" thread when i was listening and found it so fitting that I was hearing shannon say that it will be their own fault if the band didn't work out.
You have to think Shannon would want them to be doing this - not having stopped on account of his fuck up.

This one's not that exciting but I'm trying to go in chronological order.
MTV’s alternative-rock video show 120 Minutes sponsored a tour featuring PIL (led by ex-Sex Pistols frontman Johnny Rotten), Big Audio Dynamite (led by ex-Clash bassist Mick Jones) as well as two brand new bands that MTV had a big part in introducing to the world – Live and Blind Melon.
The tour hit Dayton, Ohio which is about 60 minutes from where I was living and I didn’t even give it a second thought about going to the show to see Blind Melon. I showed up early, got lost as I drove around, and eventually found the arena where they’d be playing. The guys had graduated to a camper by this point and when they pulled up, I ran over to greet them. Pleasantries were exchanged and they invited me to hang with them backstage while they loaded in and soundchecked. As a teenager, I always dreamed of being invited backstage and getting to party with the band. But, the reality is that it can be pretty boring and while it was cool to hang out with the Melon guys, when they were out soundchecking, I just sat there, twiddling my thumbs, bored out of my head.
The guys in Live stopped in and were looking for Blind Melon. It was kind of cool that I got to act all official like and be like, “Well, they’re out soundchecking. You’ll have to come back later.” As it closer to show time, I decided to go out to my seat and watch the band. I don’t remember anything crazy happening but I’m sure it was a great show. Afterwards I got to go back to the dressing room but at that point the guys were just filtering in and out. Rogers and I went back out into the auditorium to watch Live’s set and I think Ed (the singer) said it was the first time he ever stage dove. We went back to the backstage area and Mick Jones stopped by to say ‘hi’ (or maybe he was looking for somebody). Either way, I thought it was really cool that I got to say hi to him. As before, the guys kept coming in and out and eventually I was left alone in the room so I decided to go back to my seat and watch the rest of the show.
I’m pretty sure at some point that one of the guys told me that after Live’s set they found some empty room in the backstage area and got the guys from Live good and stoned!
So, I guess this story wasn’t all that exciting. I did get to meet Live and Mick Jones and watch Live’s set with Rogers so it was cool but nothing too crazy happened.

omg, 120 minutes, I LOVED that show. Best interview I've ever seen on 120 was Thurston Moore interviewing Beck. Beck was friggen hilarious, then Mike D came in the interview, then they did a weird jam session consisting of thurston doing feed back on his guitar, beck playing this weird suspender looking thing with random pads he could tap and make weird news, then Mike D had a megaphone microphone looking thing.. Sorry, slightly off topic, just wanted to spin that

Sorry, slightly off topic, just wanted to spin that I remember that segment vividly and thought it was great....No one I ask or talk to about it knows what I am refering to....it had gotten to the point where I started to think that maybe....just maybe....I dreamt it or imagined it while in another "state of mind".... I appreciate that contribution to the thread cause at least I know there was one other individual in the world that knows about it... MTV also used to have a show that was hosted by a kid from his bedroom and he would always have a special guest or 2 (in his bedroom). On one episode his guests were Beck and Mike D. They decided to not partake in the interview portion of the show but instead have a jam session using all the kids toys as instruments.....that is another one that no one seems to remember
