I couldn't agree more with Matt!
I am a huge Shannon fan and If you guys remember back when the question was asked about Blind Melon getting back together I wasn't for it at all. I didn't think anyone could fit in with the band as well as Shannon did. When I heard Travis is completely changed my mind because he is so perfect for Blind Melon, I don't think of him as being a replacement for Shannon, Shannon can't ever be replaced, but I do think its some sort of fate that the band has found Travis and they are able to continue with their music, Blind Melon is the greatest band ever and it would be a shame to let that go, I have never heard a band that has such a perfect flow and harmony, everyone fits together like they were made to play with eachother. Its special and beautiful and a gift to anyones ears.....

Yeah I'd pretty much cum in my pants if I was in some local dive bar and heard the live band bust out into these covers.... #lmao#

Let's face it... The fans that disapprove of the reformation are Shannon Hoon fans. The fans who approve of the reformation are Brad Smith, Rogers Stevens, Glen Graham, Christopher Thorn, AND Shannon Hoon fans. Very True!!! Well said Matt! #blindmelon_01#

The first time I've noticed about the reformation, I thought that Blind Melon without Shannon they couldn't be the same thing, Blind Melon without him wouldn't have any sense, that was my first reaction in this matter. But as Matt said I'm not only Shannon's fan (although I love him immnsely, miss him every day and actually his wonderful voice with his words helped me in so many ways and put a new light in my life sometimes "silly") and I have to quote Gelf too, because as she said Shannon can't ever be replaced, so Travis won't be Shannon's replacement, I agree totally with this. However I'm a Blind Melon fan, Blind Melon the band the group 5 wonderful person who made an incredible and wonderful music together in unity, Rogers, Brad, Chris, Glen, Shannon, a band, couldn't love them more! I think this is a great opportunity for the guys to make new music a new great music together again, and I'd love to see them in tour around the world and maybe this time they could visit Italy too. I can't wait to hear new songs, and I'm sure that Shannon is very happy to see his friends make music together again, maybe he would be their first fan!
Hope I've explain in a good way my thought about this, sometimes with my language problems I'm not really able to explain perfectly the concept.

I decided to revisit the Jambase article featuring the Reunion announcement ( www.jambase.com/headsup.asp?storyID=9343 )to see what additional comments may have been posted by other jambase members; One comment that I found pretty interesting is pasted below: JAKEROD :: 11/29/2006 10:35 PM :: YOU ALL READ THIS!! I FELT COMPELLED TO JOIN AFTER READING THIS SHIT FROM ALOT OF YOUR MINDS- The "New" (but same) BLIND MELON has no and should not have any reverance to the past- think about it- what makes shannon so fucking great right now? The fatct that he is a legend, because we cannot ever know what more great things could have been done.. just like his heros; janis, john lennon, morrison etc. the fire for them is alive because its fuled by uncertainties- I used to personally know the new "Frontman" for "The New" Blind Melon (like the quotations huh? haha) and this is a cinderella man story- as he idolized Hoon since years before i met that scronny ass texan (inside joke) with an eerie accent close to that of shannons who became a quick good friend and brought a storm of new sounds to the central coast of california over i think 8 years ago at the tender age of 18 with a half tatted full back peice of shannon to prove this is a dream come true and since i know how amazing he can play the guitar as it is (Phenominal!) and can sing with the best of anybody BAR-FUCKIN-NONE in this industry! He is simply the new cat in town- show him and the rest of the melons the respect that they deserve!! cause they're still willing to entertain you- and push on when they really didnt have to.. I think its great and believe me - trust me you stupid arogant idiots who whine that replacing a frontman kills bands- Do you think you can stick a lollipop up your ass and eat it- and still enjoy the taste cause of what it is originally? thats what the radio is these days- this is NOT! look for previews i urge you-- will be in your cd library or ipod or whats it matter your probably just gonna rip it for free anyways.. Hola back - with some intellect next time

#lmao# I have to say I agree with this cat. He didn't express his point of view in the most respectful way, but neither were the pricks he was retaliating against. That lollipop statement is ridiculous and hilarious at the same time.

Maybe this isn't topic for this, but I want to share with you... Ron Thal in replay for my mail: About Blind Melon: "They were a great band - wish their time hadn't been cut short. About re-union Blind Melon: That's great I wish them well ! ! About Tourin with Blind Melon: interesting idea... if the subject of opening acts for future tours comes up, I'll definitely mention it

[/b][/quote] Thanks for posting this. I was saying the other day to someone that the thing that really sealed it for me was finding out Travis was a huge fan of shannon's. Even I don't have a shannon hoon tattoo! (Worth considering though ). Anyway, good post and I agree 100%!!
