Just to set the record straight Drive is not about Axl Rose, but a guy none of you have ever heard of who used to get Shannon to drive him to buy heroin, as well as general pondering about the nature of addicts and addiction. Jet Rag was the used clothing store on Melrose where Christopher, and said guy, worked at that time and was often used as a rendezvous point for these excursions. We stole extensively from dozens of bands but this was by far the most blatant example so we had to acknowledge it vocally. Despite what you may have read, Shannon was barely acquainted with Axl. From time to time I will try to correct some of the inaccuracies on this forum. Glen Graham Thanks so much for posting Glen! This is awesome! Any information that you are willing to share would be great! Your drumming on the new track "Make a Difference" is insane. And your video for "Harmful Belly" is very well done! You are one amazing melon! ! ! You rock Glen! #rock#

Thanks so much Glen! It really helps to have the information firsthand. There are a lot of unanswered questions out there that we speculate about. By the way, Ryan is right...the Harmful Belly video is awesome and the drumming on Make A Difference is spectacular! That's what I dig most about the song right now...you rock!

Oh,another thing about Drive that I can relate to is the line ...till that Lennon Song comes along,He'll turn it off & say... I've been known to turn songs from the Double Fantasy album off.

"Jimmy, we need to borrow this for a minute ..." probably means Jimi Hendrix, because right after this verse they play well known riff from Hendrix's song "Manic Depression." The Jimi Hendrix riff is from The Wind Cries Mary, not Manic Depression.

Is that for real? I can plainly hear a riff in Manic Depression that sounds just like that bit of Drive... Is there a part of The Wind Cries Mary that sounds like that too, or... what's up? Regardless, I dig that part of the song. Drive is definitely in my top three favorite Melon tunes.

I always thought it was hendrix. Where's Glen? Maybe he can clear this up as well.

Thanks Glen!..Finally we know the truth about Shannon and Axl`s friendship..I think i "wanted" to believe that they were really close friends since i`m a big fan of both of them.
