What song do you believe has the best guitar riff of all of Blind Melon's music? I would say I Wonder (especially when played live) rocks and also in 2 x 4 about 2mins 30secs in the riff that is played makes me want to turn up my speakers until they explode. I just wanted people to discuss which songs stand out for them guitar-wise because the band had such great guitar players to back up the amazing voice of the late Shannon Hoon. There are alot more amazing songs I love which I will have to wait until a later date for to find beautiful enough words to descibe them. ps if a mod thinks this should be moved to the Blind Melon is a band forum please do my fellow melon. : o)

my fav guitar part (not sure if it's a riff either hehe....) is about the last minute of swallowed. i wish the damn part was longer. when it starts fading out i have to get up and turn the speakers up. whenever i hear soak the sin live, the one from the best of, about the 3:50 mark brad has this little bass solo....whenever i hear it i picture some littly chubby kid busting out in a little jig #dance# listen to it and tell me you don't picture the same thing

There is so much great guitar work in Blind Melon so it's hard to narrow it down. I really love the end of Deserted...the intro to I Wonder...Drive. Those are one that come to mind immediately.
Brad's bass lines rock too! That mofo comes up with some incredible melodies...it's like his bass is playing it's own song that perfectly mixes in with the rest of the instrumentation. Listen to the Wetlands show and it really highlights Brad's skill. In the recording of it the bass really stands out.
What I really love about Blind Melon is that it's ear candy. Everyone is kind of doing their own thing but somehow it works.

Whew! If I'm thinking guitar riffs, mainly stuff off the first album but a few from Soup or Nico. Some standouts for me are Soak the Sin live, Drive, Mouthful of Cavaties, and Holyman.

Also I'd like to agree that Brad has some killer basslines and some really sick guitar riffs on "Abandon Jalopy"

I have just discovered new songs like Mother and Tickled Pink but I am liking the riffs for Galaxie and Soul One as well as I Wonder (like before) alot right now.
