There are so many of Shannons words that cut through me like a knife but one that hits home for me is... this life has taken a toll on my soul and then the song Wooh God/Dog, I just love that song , that's all him, the way he sings with so much meaning and , the song might be short but the way he sings it,  I could feel it for miles |

You know if there's one thing that I identify with Shannon the most is his views on religion.. Or at least what I think his views on religion were considering he talked a lot about God and even had that wonderful poem tattooed on his arm... As far as I understand, he just wasnt into organized religion that much just like me... So here are some of my favorite quotes as far as religion: "Religiously they seem to sin Buy, sell, or trade for amens... I just dont wanna feel, I dont wanna feel, I just dont wanna feel like they feel.." a little part from 'i wonder' always hits me the hardest...

Then they ripped away my memories and I can't remember who i was before.
to me anyway, i always think of addiction and how after i came out of the haze i tried to go back to the way i was but realized i couldn't even remember anything about myself anymore. like you get broken down into tiny little pieces like a vase and you're picking them up and gluing them back together, but there are always gonna be holes and cracks now, and there will be pieces missing and there'll be pieces you thought were there so you glued them in, and only later you realize they were never part of it in the first place....
somebody also posted that quote from 'walk', the very last part of it, i love that one too.

i find people are so quick to label and judge. but you never know the things that push people to do what they do, good or bad. and i think people struggle with themselves more than we give them credit for. we all fuck up. and then we all wake up in the morning and gotta try one more time...

Of course I LOVE all of Blind MElon's music....but theres just something about "Deserted"....that definately moves me..... ....asleep in my bed and unstoned I'm tired of me, this way.... .....and the sand blew in my eyes I stood on the edge and looked down to see..... the light of a new life, shining up on me.....
