Hey All! Wow! I can't believe how many people are as in love with Blind Melon and Shannon as I am. I always thought my brother and I were the biggest fans, guess not, but it was really great to see all of you out here. I would love to be able to go to the Vigil. I always thought how wonderful it would be to meet his family. I am from Indiana and actually attended Purdue University and worked in Lafayette after college. I'm still here in Indiana. After Shannon died, my brother and I really wanted to go and visit his grave. I was only 13. My mother, bless her heart, drove us from Indy all around Lafayette to try and find his grave. We drove through several cemetaries searching and searching. We asked around, but the locals didn't really know too much; however one did tell us that he was buried in Dayton. So we drove out there and stopped at someone's residence. The woman who live there was so nice. She allowed me to come in and call around to see where Shannon was exactly. We finally found it. It was something I'll never forget. We have pictures of his grave before the beautiful head stone was placed. I'll have to post those sometime. We went back again after the headstone was placed. It still saddens me that our world has lost such a wonderful and talented person. RIP Shannon

Wow, welcome to the forum Mindy! Thanks for sharing your story, that sounds like it was a pretty intense experience once you finally got to Shannon's grave. Are you planning on attending the vigil this year? I'd love to meet you! If you dont mind sharing, I'd love to see those pictures of your first trip to the grave.
