I know alot of us cant be there, but I thought I would take a moment to start this thread so we could say what we wanted to say to Shannon Today or even post pictures, song lyrics, or letters. Here is a photo I found of Shannon's Grave. I just want to say that, Shannon I never met you, but I miss you. I never hugged you, but I love you. We have never crossed paths physically but you have made such a huge impact on my life with your words and song, I will never ever forget you.

My candle burns at both ends; It will not last the night; But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends-- It gives a lovely light! Edna St. Vincent Millay Eternal peace I hope you found When last you closed your eyes Since so precious is the gift you left For us to this earth bound Ishbell

Shannon, you never knew me but i will never let you go. Through your music i found you but you had left me on my own. Forever will i cherish your words and be grateful to what you have given me. More than you know, more than i could have ever dreamed of. I will always miss you. I will always love you.

Hello everyone, VERY beautiful words, thoughts, & pictures. I will be heading to Lafayette/Dayton early tomorrow morning(it is an 8hr drive from Memphis). I mentioned to Barbara in a PM about the possibility of taking some pics with my phone once we get there & then emailing them to her so maybe she can post them here for everyone that cannot make it. Feel free to let me know what you think anyone/everyone! That way it would be maybe the next best thing for everyone who is not able to be there in person! -J.

Our dearest Shannon, I am sorry to say that I have never had the honor of meeting you. I want to tell you how much your voice and words have touched me personally and so many of us. Many times your voice is the first and last that I hear each day. Thank you for everything. Much love.

Your music and incredibly beautiful personality inspires me every day. You changed my life in so many wonderful ways, comfort me when I feel down and making good times even better! Even though you weren't aware of it, you were an endlessly SPECIAL person! THANK YOU for being there, wherever you are.
