I beg to differ, let me clarify my position, by the way I'm Canadian. Socialism as perceived in todays political arena. [glow=red,2,300]China, Canada, and Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, etc.) all have socialist type influences through out their societies. Many countries have socialized medicine amoung other government programs. [/glow]China is one of a very few countries that could be labelled truely Socialist thereby accounting for their wealth.
Cuba is basically a dictatorship and nothing more. It was labeled a communist country when it was linked to the USSR.
FASCISM AS DEFINED IN A DICTIONARY extreme right-wing, authoritarian, or intolerant views or practice. The term fascism was first used of the totalitarian right-wing nationalist regime of Benito Mussolini in Italy (1922-43), and the regime of the Nazis in Germany were also Fascist. Fascism tends to include a belief in the supremacy of one national or ethnic group, a contempt for democracy, an insistence on obedience to a powerful leader, and a strong demagogic approach.
'nuff said, again ladyjane I apologize, my intent was not to debate political idealism but to offer a possible solution to provide adequate healthcare to all people.

There is a fine line between socialism and communism. Socialism refers to an economic system and communism usually refers to both an economic and political system. But it really doesn't matter anymore. Unless people are willing to accept the truth. But most people will not. The wrong players have become powerful. And the fact is, they don't have our best interests in mind. What we want makes no difference. Our vote no longer counts. And nothing is going to change unless everyone is willing to wake up and face this ugly truth. Hilter was a Fascist who was also a sociopath which again has no connection to Socialism. I will not a have a defeatist attitude. I believe in fighting back. But it takes a lot of work and a lot of commitment to make changes. There's no magic wand to make this all go away. This is a favorite quote of mine and I agree with it 100% ""[glow=red,2,300]If we make peaceful revolution impossible, we make violent revolution inevitable." [/glow] At a global summit in Europe, Vladimir Putin the Russian Prime Minister dropped a newly minted coin at the table, global currency, there you have it. Better take heed my friends because the West is bankrupt and China is the biggest threat to us. They have no debt and have a mind bogling amount of money for their military and take overs. Russia and China have become allies and they will be a force to contend with. North America has lost it's footing on the global stage......we're a joke. We've hijacked this thread and our thouths should really be with Ladyjane.

ladyjane, I'm so, so sorry to hear what you are all going through it's unconscionable. I can really rant on this but won't. I'm Canadian and our Conservative government is doing it's best to have a tiered healthcare system where money will mean better care. The answer is for each and everyone of us to stand up and say enough is enough, as trite as it sounds we are the power and when something touches your life like it has ladyjane's it's time to help out by becoming very vocal ........everything has been deregulated by the governments from both sides of the border and there were no watchdogs and the well fed fat corporate pigs were gorging at the through while no one was watching. What has it cost the government to try and stabilize our economies? I'm a Socialist and believe that we are all created equal and no one should go through what Ladyjane's family has had to endure. Socialism is not Communism there is a huge difference and there would be healthcare for all. Look at what happened in Russia when they became a so called "democracy", Russia is now ruled by the mob and many, many people are desperately poor. Ultra Capitalists have NO CONSCIENCE, I've said enough. Huge hugs to all of you ladyjane. #smileyhug#

It makes me sick too, it looks like he's plain going to fall over and his eyes are dead. During their gig at Woodstock when he's singing "I'll make you all go away", it's almost convincing. In my opinion he should have never toured to promote Soup but the money train just had to keep chugging didn't matter what lay on the tracks.

Lee,thank you for that.I've never seen anything like it.Great conversation/interview.What a great loss for those who knew him. What a great loss for the world of music. My younger brother turned me onto MotherLoveBone in 93,from off the,Singles,Soundtrack. After that I bought the tape too ishy.I must've been 26. Man,in those days, all the tripping, drinking & drugging seemed like so much fun.We bounced back from everything so easily. Then it lead to yrs.of trying to get off heroin & other narcotics. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.Just thought I'd tell y'all that for some reason. I second you on that Jeff and a lot of people ruined their lives, and a lot ended their lives. In Nutshell Layne sings these lyrics"if I can't be my own, I'd feel better dead" and those words pretty well sum it up.

I read that there is a theory that he didn't actually die from the OD, that he had a reaction to the medications given to him to help bring him out of the coma he was in. They guy (can't remember his name, but he is the creator of the Malfunkshun movie that was made) that Andy was allergic to just about everything and that the drugs the hospital gave him actually killed him. Do you know if that has any truth to it, Ishbell? You seem to be the knowledgeble one on Mr. Wood. I don't want to sound like a know it all but no that's not true it was a bad batch of heroin and a few people almost died but were not alone so got help. Andy did it alone at home, his fiance Xana found him but he was already in a deep coma. He was starting to respond and there was brain activity so he may have come out of the coma but he had an aneurysm in his head that let go causing a massive bleed. They took him off the respirator once everyone was there. Xana listened to his heart until it stopped and cut some of his hair. I think MLB had a great future ahead of them with Andy, Stone Gossard, Jeff Ament and Bruce Fairweather and I can't remember the drummers name. Anyways that was another huge loss .
