I ask because I just saw a commercial on VH1 classics "One Hit Wonders" and it showed a brief shot of the "No Rain" video during the montage. I know Blind Melon released at least 5? albums, and in their hey-day "My Galaxie", "Tones of Home", "Change" and "No Rain" were all given air time on the radio. So before I go rant at VH1, I'd like to know, what constitutes a "hit song", and how many of Blind Melon's releases reached that status?
Or should I just say "well hey at least it gets their name out there"? I hate to think of them being promoted by the media as finished with just one song to their credit.

All about the charts....
You gotta understand that the band released a handful of singles (and shot videos) before they actually scored an audience with "No Rain".
The song that drives the fans to place a band "on top" is considered their hit...
I saw the same commercial... And (even though I am bias to the band, and think all of their songs could be a hit, in some way) they really only had one hit.
After I saw the commercial, I went online and searched for more "One Hit Wonders" ... There are many bands/artists, on the lists I've read, that I don't get..
It's all about a certain song that is introduced to the listeners, that sells a debut band's record. No Rain was that song for Melon.

I wasn't sure if you were asking for real or not.

I will be sure to use the /sarcasm off command when I'm not asking seriously.
