Check these guys out: www.myspace.com/albertacrossI saw their final song at a day show this year at SXSW and thought I had walked in on an old Blind Melon gig. The singer - from a distance - looks like Shannon and sounds a bit like him. These guys are currently on tour with Pete Yorn (!).

well, im always kinda late findin good music... just now gettin into the avett bros.! i just found alberta cross and i looooooove them! they sound like so many different bands, but very original and they have alot of unique styles within their own style of music. i can hear blind melonish vibe....i think alot of their songs are really melodic and have a melon type energy to them. i also hear a little u2, a little soul asylum, a little first album black crows guitar tone. its has alot of soul and emotion to it. kinda late 80's early 90'sish....he even has a neil youngish feel in his vocals on a few songs ive heard.....i would love to hear an acoustic show.....its really prettied up, i usually like music a little less studio, but i do loooooove this band!

Glad to see some of you are starting to dig these guys. I saw them for the third time last night and they get better and better. I'll post some photos later. Last time I saw them, I gave them copies of the Blind Melon self-titled CD and Soup because they told me that they weren't that familiar with Blind Melon other than "No Rain".

I love these guys, Matt showed me them and I had to go out and buy their albums. Low Man and Old Man Chicago are my favorite. They do remind me somewhat of Blind Melon.
