Greg, the boys and I just went to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for a week (the beach). We stayed in a big house on the west side of the island (Currituck Sound). We took a lot of pictures while we were there. Here are a few of my favorites, I hope you enjoy them. I have no actual beach/ocean pictures b/c I forgot to bring the camera every time we went. We did see A LOT of dolphins swimming out in the ocean. ;D sunset at the shoreline thunderstorm in the distance Bodie Island Lighthouse and a Carolina blue sky The following are from Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo, NC.... The front of the house we stayed in... The back of the house we stayed in...

I'm jelous, especialy about the dolphins part! I saw them only once and it was gorgeous to see them swim. I didn't see them do anything special, just comming out of the water but I found them amazing, how slowly and with elegancy they moved...I so wish I'll see more of them one day

Those pictures of your trip are great. It sounds like y'all had a good time. Sonya, I used a picture of the Bodie Lighthouse in one of my recent brochures. ;D I really liked that picture of the thunderstorm in the distance.
And Greg, what kind of fish is that? Nice catch dude! #thumb# I hope you had a great vacation and birthday!

Your pictures are beautiful! That house is AMAZING! I'm hoping to get to the beach next month, I can't believe that summer is winding down so soon.

The house was amazing. We divided the cost up between 5 couples and it was still expensive. I have to say it was worth it though (it had a private pool and hot tub which was awesome). If you figure out how much you would pay for a decent hotel room for a week it's really about the same amount as how much we paid for our share of the house rent. Next year I think we're going to try and find something on the ocean side so we can easily walk to the beach. The house probably won't be as nice because once you start getting closer to the ocean, it gets more expensive. Ryan, I was actually more impressed with the lighthouses than I thought I would be. We couldn't climb up the Bodie Island lighthouse, but we went to Currituck Lighthouse which is about 30 miles north and we climbed over 200 stairs to the top. What a view from the top! You can see the Sound and the Atlantic Ocean on either side of you. I took some pictures with my cell phone that day, but they didn't turn out very well. My sister-in-law had her camera so once I get the pictures from her I'll post them. Barb, the dolphins really were amazing to watch! You're right, they do seem very slow and elegant as they come up out of the water. We kept seeing three swimming together and every so often they would pop up out of the water. I had seen dolphins swimming before, but never for as long as we did at the beach the other day. They hung out and swam for awhile right in front of where we were sitting on the beach. I love the Outer Banks and I can't wait to go back! It's a 3.5 hour drive for us which isn't too bad. We've talked about going a few times a year on three day weekends and stuff. I think I would like to try camping there in the fall when the weather is cooler. ;D

Thanks for sharing ang good catch Greg, but POOR FISH!! #chair# Haha, I thought something like that too, when I saw the pics. At first I went WOW, cool! but right next moment, "aw, poor fish" and when I looked at the second pic better, with all the blood on the floor, I went "ewww, POOR FISH" I went fishing with my uncle once, mostly cause I just wanted to do a cool trip in his boat and since he's fishing I thought I'd try but I was actualy hoping we won't catch any fish The pics from your trip are really amazing, every single one of them! And the house too! I like especialy the back of the house, hehe.
