Someone mentioned the singer from Tesla. As much as I love the guy, he does not have it anymore. Can't hit the highs. Frank Hannon actualy helps him out with the lead vocals now. I always thought that Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes would be the perfect fit. Same vibe, attitude and vocal range. Glad to see someone else mention it.

Ryan Koontz would be a great fit but there is no way he would ever hook up with Melon. I recently caught one of their shows in Philadelphia and he said Shannon is actually one of his biggest influences. If anything give this band a listen...-Jim www.myspace.com/dirtysweetmusic

yeah i agree with black crowes lead, but they seem to be pretty busy doing their own thing. I'm hoping to see them at Dfest next week.

I agree, I love Daniel, but not for BM....maybe if Eddie Vedder were to quit Pearl Jam.....he'd be PERFECT for that gig....

Dan would be a good try, and although he can sing high notes, he probably wouldn't be able to sustain high for entire songs, like Shannon could, atm Johns is only good at getting high, just youtube any recent interview and you'll see what i mean...
i still think Perry Farrell (apart from Chris Shinn) is the only one out there who can bring something great, and something credible to the band...

I am still hoping that there is someone out there, unknown, that will bring them back together again. I REALLY was pulling for Shinn... And, I doubt Perry is even on their radar, nor them on his...

He's kinda up there in years... Not sure if he would bring that energetic vibe to the band.
great voice though. Sounds very similar to Matt Molarius.

I never really heard much from Jeff Buckley (just his acoustic folk stuff). So, I previewed some of his stuff at Amazon... And, that lead me to buying 2 of his albums today. The guy is great!

Well... just what is the news for a new singer? Also WHY not Chris Shinn... he has the vocal power and the energy Blind Melon needs!
