This kind of violence can happen to anyone, it happened to us and if someone had told me that my son would be stabbed someday I would have thought they were crazy. So you melons all be real careful out there, there's some real sick people who will sooner kill you then look at you and if this stops 1 person from starting hillbilly heroin or any hard drug then it will have been worth walking all over my pride.
I'll delete this post probably tonight, I hope that enough people will have looked at it. We're losing a generation to this drug, some people will do almost anything to get it.
Well now I'm going to return to gardening, kayaking, swimming and photography, reading and all the things I love to do. I'll show my love to all who've cared and loved me.
The sun will shine again......
No more negativity.
much melon love to all

I've deleted the pics, I hope that some people got a wake up call, violence is a way of life now. My son will be moving out to Alberta to go live with relatives. As sad as I am to see him go I'm also relieved, because the guy who stabbed him is still out there. He has spent time in jail for beating an old man almost to death during a home invasion, he is also suspected in the stabbing death of a college student. I will breathe easier when Scott is gone.
As for drugs, just stay away, addiction is a lonely business and a living hell.
much melon love to all

Ishbell, I didn't get to see any pics...and I don't need to. I've just been catching up on what has been happening to you and your son. I just want to say I feel for you in your situation and to just look up. You sound to me like you have some helluva strength in you to help you get on. We all hit a rough patch now and then, and we can even get past the seemingly insurmountable bumps in the road. Dig deep and put that strength to work; you'll make it through.

Man,I just got out of rehab for alcohol & benzodiazapine abuse(addiction)It was really good for me.I need to go to a meeting everyday and I am scheduled for 12 group therapy sessions. The only problem was no music which means no Blind melon cds playing for a frigging week, but when I was out of all those groups I was humming, singing or whistling Blind Melon tunes. I told EVERYONE about Blind Melon & when My Wife came to pick me up,I had her bring one of my extra Soup cds & an extra For My Friends cd to give to an 18 yr. old who used to be in a band for about 3 yrs. (Noones Anthem)& had an opiate problem.I Love Spreadin The Melon.Once again,Blind Melon songs have taken on new meaning for me.I Love You Shannon,I Love You Rogers,Brad,Christopher & Glen, and of course I Love Travis T. also.I Love You Melons!

I'm happy you did it, you meet all kinds of people in rehab and it's great you shared your love for Blind Melon. You were the first one to pm me regarding your addiction and I'm proud of you for taking that first step. There's a few people here who struggle with addiction and I got some surprising and encouraging messages from them. There's support all around you, you just have to reach for it. You've given to the forum with the great pics you've posted and I'm sure the people on the forum will give back. You're a good soul Jeff so pm me anytime..... #smileyhug#

thats horrible, Ishbell. I hope everything's alright with you and your son. Yes, we are doing ok, we're all getting the help we need. There's a victims assistance program and the woman comes right to our house to talk to us and help us deal with what happened. None of us will ever be the same but it's time to look ahead. Thanks everyone for your kind words. much melon love ish
