I heard he's back in permanently. Nel Hoon supposadly put out that rumour through Eye and Mind Designs.

I read that. For right now, I'm considering everything a rumor until Rogers, Glen, Brad, or CT confirms it.

This is weird. I thought Chris Shinn was doing new years? Why would Travis just do one night and then leave again. I guess no bridges were badly burned....enough not to do a show together. Just seems odd to me. I'm not seeing any other news or updates on any sites, just what I read on Travis' myspace page. Odd....

Exactly. That's why I need to hear something from the rest of the guys.

If this is legit, put me on the list of people who are very disappointed.
I've got 6 tickets to a Toronto show that didn't happen and was planning a roadtrip to Detroit for NYE with the idea that Chris would be singing. It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of Chris Shinn and the idea of him being on stage with BM...I was excited about the possibilities. He would have brought something completely new to the band, the sound would have evolved.
Chris wasn't "in" the band, but I am feeling pretty disappointed. It's a let down.

Chris seems like a great guy and I am going to wonder what he could have brought to the band, but I think everyone jumped the gun way too quick...including us fans. Travis seems like the only logical fit for this reunion and when onstage it is hard to argue that they could be any better with anyone else. Hopefully they can put the hard feelings behind them and grow stronger. I think the lyrics to Wishing Well might be relevent to everything going on. Welcome back Travis and I hope you continue through New Years!!!

I'm just gonna come out and say exactly what I am feeling here. What if this is it? What if its just this show to say goodbye as Blind Melon? I'm scared about this possibility.

Chris said the "re-hired" Travis. Take that for what it is. Looks like they're moving forward.
I really believe Chris would have brought something new to the band, but that's not up to me. I can't wait to hear what Chris puts out next, I'm dying to hear the Nashville project in full bloom. Shit happens, but where there's smoke there's fire. How long before the next dust up?

Ouch, my heart hurts.
I would love to see TTW back, but at the same time I am sad that Chris will be let down. BUT I ultimatly hope Travis and the band to get back together!!!
...although that will be awkward for everyone who confessed their disgust in Travis. But hey, maybe that was just in the heat of the moment as well.

Now we're just waiting for the official word. I'm curious if this means preeminently, or just for the NYE show.

I am one who has never expressed digust for Travis..I have always stayed true in believing ,since shannon isn't here, that he is the one,and I will forever hold that thought..seen and met them twice, and this is why i still believe...anyone else is so questionable to me??? maybe chris shinn should take it off his page that he is doing the nye gig..now that travis is back???Just a thought.
