Hey Yall Just watched the video of Nico performing "Change" with Blind Melon in Chicago. Talk about goosebumps. I was supposed to be there but went the night after b/c of work. What an amazing moment in Melon history! The guys looked so happy and Nel spoke of Travis. It was bittersweet b/c I realized that those times are over but at the same time we will always have the memories...and when life is hard you have to change...we are seeing those words very clearly right now, but I have this gut feeling that the best is yet to come...

I can relate about the goosebumps.I could hardly get My Mind around it when I first watched Nico's performance. What a monumental event! She was great & I was just so happy & mesmerized.Shannons Daughter! His own blood,up there singing & interacting w/ the crowd. The Band was really cool with her too.We all Love Her. Same here about the Memories.Even though Travis is gone that doesn't mean we can't make more incredible Memories. That stage in the life of Blind Melon takes us all into the next stage. I have such a good feeling they are gonna be awesome for The New Years Eve show.

I was at the Nico show, and it was a pleasant surprise. In fact, I couldn't believe it, and neither could anyone else at the show. I bought a ticket for my buddy who never really listens to BM so he can come experience Melon with me (it was my first show). He had a great time, asked me to burn him a CD, and said that there's an aura surrounding that band. I've been to 4 other shows since, and have had an amazing time. It's upsetting to know that Travis is finished with the band, but I'm sure there's a good explanation which we haven't heard (and probably never will). Oh well, that's life. I hope they can get a good replacement for him. I know I'm gonna be sending my tape in soon.
As for the NYE show, I want to go SOOOOOO bad, but my financial situation has got me by the balls, and I don't have anyone that will FOR SURE go with me. I have a bunch of friends who will "maybe" go, but you know how that is. If I can get my shit together in time then I will most definitely be attending this. I will be pretty heartbroken if I don't, but you can't always get what you want.
On a side note, if you guys are into other 90's bands, Candlebox has just released their first album in 10 years and they're touring now. I haven't heard the album yet, but I'm gonna go check them out at Austin's Saloon, where I saw the best BM show I've ever been to.
