The only logical explanation would be if a japanese tour had been planned long in advance...then I could see the logic.I can't imagine for the life of me that they'd purposely postpone the cancelled dates any further to test things out in the far east. My understanding is that they're financing the tours themselves, Japan would be a ridiculously expensive experiment to see if things will work out or try new songs. Toronto sold out quick and a second show was added. Had that happened anywhere before? (outside of LA or NYC?) We've always been a good city for the band...but in 2 years, and one completed Canadian tour, we still haven't had a show. Sources aside, I'm holding out to hear from the band on this one. With all due respect sir. Like you said they are financing their own tours, and Japan was booked awhile back. So my guess is like in most cases, They probally stand to LOSE alot of money when they cancle tour dates. They just cancled a whole leg of a tour for the States. And I'm sure they DO NOT want to canacel another whole leg of a tour. They will get to Canada again man, They just have made prior arangments without antisapating the recent events inculding the cancleing of your show in Toronto. Did you not read the first line in what I wrote? I underlined it just in case you missed it.

I think it's fair to feel how you felt melondew. It's when fans start to get too emotional that it's overboard. To feel upset about your favourite band breaking up is normal! To cry for 3 weeks like you lost a family member might be considered weird. As for a Japanese tour with Travis, I guess I should be excited and I get the make up sex analogy...I'm not saying second chances aren't deserved, but for this situation to go down like it did...there had to be some pretty serious issues, for a pretty long time. And Rogers post about Travis doing the NYE show seemed a lot more about sparing more disappointment and lost dollars than an explosive romp in the musical sack. And yeah, I think the US/Canada dates should be made up first if anything. Unless of course the Japanese tour was already booked (a point that has been clearly made! ) I'm sure there are reasons...but wouldn't touring somewhere else just make those fans who's shows got cancelled even that much more disappointed and let down? As soon as there is an official announcement all the speculation can be put to rest.

I'm with Tamara, I'm not even really going to think about it either way until I see an official announcement...I honestly feel that plans are probably changing all the time for Blind Melon right now.

This is what I was trying to say with my post...too much to speculate - I want to hear from them directly - any chance of that?
