i got out some of my old music and started listening to belly. they had one song that got kinda popular i think it was on 120 minutes alot....feed the trees. They were really original and great tanya donelly was the singer....just wanted to know if anyone else used to listen to them and if anyone knows if they are doing anything now....really....listen to them. they were a little out there but good, creative stuff.

I liked that song... I also liked "Gepetto" ...
I bought the album based on those 2 tracks.... Hated the rest of the album.
I was WAY more into The Cranberries. I could never get enough of their first album. After that, hated them too.. However, I could listen to The Cranberries first album, 24/7... Damn, it's great!
"Linger" made me want to buy the album... This tune made me want more and more from them...

While I am chatting about female singers/bands... I would just like to point out how freakin' perfect this girl is... When the drums kick in, I get chills beyond chills...

oh my....I love her.....shes like an angel....her voice as you said is perfect and has true emotion. i like the cranberries and think they are very talented, but never just loooved them...i just didnt really feel a connection. You're right about the belly music... if you bought it based on those songs it was kind of a let down. I had to listen to it several times before i got a whole lot out of it. theres about 5-6 songs on it i really like though. while were talking about female musicians, do yall remember mary's danish.? i mentioned them before on here but nobody replied. they were a really great band in early 90's. They were really good in the way blind melon is in the way that they took from all kinds of influences and made it original. they really rocked out and had a killer acordion (spelling?) player. you dont see that every day. Im probably missing out on some good stuff, but i just havent heard any great original female musicians lately. Im thinking along the line of the breeders and that type thing. If anyone has any suggestions id love to check it out.

Poe is may favorite female vocalist. The "Haunted" CD tells a story from track 1, right to the end.
K's Choice is pretty badass... This is a very recognized tune from the 90s..
Mazzy Star kicks arse...
Fiona is probably my 2nd fav...
I love Joan...
I have a lot more to post... But, I gotta get a few things done.. Be back a little later!

You got me curious, and i did some research. They had an album called king in 1995...seems like i might have had it, im not sure though, if i did it must not have left a very big impression. They also had a greatest hits with little wing on it. I think little wing might have been on a comp alb. of some kind also. Tanya Donnelly has also had 4 solo albums--last one in 06. Im gonna check them out. Thought you might want to also. If you do, let me know what you think!!
Oh just checked, not the hendrix little wing, but i thought they did do a hendrix song....maybe manic depression...on a tribute or somekind of album like that...my memory is a little fuzzy!! #sillytc3#
