Has anyone ever noticed that there are diferent versions of the song Change in the video and the album version? I just picked up on it. Personally I like the video version better when Shannon says "...and when you stop, you know youre gonna die, and right now i dont wanna die.." that last line isnt in the album version. anyways, just wondering who else picked up on that

I noticed something similar a few years back when i bought the Porcupine DVD. The video has an extra line, something like, 'and you wash it down with a little bitter' after the line, '...take a look around then you look way up to the sky.' The Changed version that"s floating around has this 'wash it down' lyric, but the album version doesn't.

Shannon always changed this song around, i don't find it unusual that he would screw with us and change the words on the video. My favorite live version on this song is from the letterman show

My favorite live version on this song is from the letterman show Not sure if you know this, but he wasn't actually singing in the video. Most videos are like this. Whatever version of the song they used (almost a slight remix) was picked by the label. It just seems odd that the video would be 99.9% the same song as the LP, with just one little line faded in the background. Shannon does lip-sync the 'wash it down' lyric. Weird

that was on the cd-5 (extended cd-single) for CHANGE...
"changed" was the title it was givin on the cd-5.
but yeah, the lyrics got changed up a tiny bit all the time. keeps it interesting sometimes.....
Like "all i can say is that the velvet underground is great....."
and "...I just want someone to say to me .. Ho Ho Ho Ho... Merry Xmas"
and Travis live doing "...we'd start with a yellin match... and end up throwin' shoes..."

"Throwin' shoes" was the lyric on the demo, before the album was released.

Now he sings "throwin' dirt".....or at least he did in Atlanta.
I like the version of Change(d) where Shannons sings "I don't think I'll ever feel colder then I feel here, at the bottom of this beer."

"woah, as I fade away.... They'll spit on me and say...."
I dig that line.

Funny I really thought throwing shoes which you hear on the Stamford DVD was cleaning up the song for all the kids in the crowd (and there was alot) I really though it was like a domestic violence thing. like dont say "gettin hurt". throwing shoes doesn't even rhyme.
