That's awesome Heather! I can't wait to hear all about it. ;D I'd be geeking out too. I missed most of their "meet and greet" at the merch table since I was breaking down my gear so by the time I got down there Travis was the only one left. I had some DVDs that I had burned for CT so I asked Travis were he was and Travis said "follow me". We went out back and got on the bus. He said "hey guys it's Heather" and pulled back the curtain. I about DIED!! They were all just sitting there hanging out, watching the weather channel. We chatted about music, Bob Dylan, Charleston, and the food network. They offered me a drink but I declined since I had friends waiting for me and I honestly felt a little like I was invading their space. They were so cool. I floated on air after leaving the bus and when I got back inside I realized I had left my purse behind so I had to go back like a fool and retrieve it. So much for a cool exit. Once I was back inside I saw Glen at the bar so I went over to say hi and ended up talking to him for an hour and a half. We threw back some Heinikens and talked about taping shows (which is one of my favorite subjects). I'm hoping they will be releasing a live album in the near future.

The Food Network? What was that conversation about? I think if I was on the bus I would feel like I was invading their space too so I can empathize what what you said. It's definitely awesome that you have this great experience now to look back on and smile over. I saw you and Glen chatting it up at the bar when Karen and I were talking to Brooks. It looked like you were having a good conversation. I agree, a live album would be phenomenal. Did you talk to Glen about that at all? I can't wait to hear how the Columbia recording turned out. Have you listened to it yet?

Have you listened to it yet? They were watching the weather channel and CT was eating a granola bar and they made a joke about not being very rock star-ish. The weather channel was playing god awful background music so CT changed the channel to the food network. Rogers apparently hates the food network. It's basically the only channel I watch but Rogers wasn't having it. I couldn't convince him that watching people cook was interesting. I had a great conversation with Glen. He's real cynical and funny and I probably feel the most at ease around him. We talked about a live CD and possibly a DVD. I tried to sell him on the finer points of letting TeamWWHJD? be part of the project and he seemed really interested. I'm sending him all the stuff we've done so far since he hasn't seen it. He's got some great ideas and I think Aaron and I could totally pull it off. I have listened to the recording and it doesn't sound as good as some of our other ones. That "venue" was a nightmare to tape. I mean there was a damn bar where the soundboard should have been. I had to tape from the balcony with the mics pointing down so the recording has a lot of reflection off the ceiling and it sounds bassy. I'll be able to shape it a bit with some software that we have. Charleston and Charlotte are ready to go and I should be getting them up at TTD in the next day or two. I'll probably get Columbia up the beginning of next week.

I think it's one of my favorites. I like how you can see him in the mirror too.

I can't see the pictures right now because of the stupid filters here at work. I'll have to check them out later when I get home. I'm sure they're awesome. I lost my digi camera at the show but I really don't mind. It was such a great show and I needed an excuse to get a new one anyway and I knew Karen and Sonya got tons of great pics.
I did get some video footage from the front row but not too much since I can't tape Melon without a tripod. I'd have the camera rolling for two seconds before I just wanted to throw the thing and commence rocking out again. I think I only got one complete song.

I had a blast at this gig, amazing! Not having to drive to Charlotte was a godsend, and though Headliners isn't the greatest of venues I do think it's got Tremont beat! Perched directly in front of Mr. Thorn is where I wanted to be, and lo and behold it's where I ended up (Led Zep "Song Remains the Same" T shirt guy ). I expected there to be a larger crowd in attendance, but I think the Thursday before the 4th saw a large number of people exit town to more exotic locations than Cola. Their loss, 'cause the atmosphere there felt more like a private show...front row and plenty of room to breathe and shake-my-money-maker! Band was steamrolling on all cylinders, killer set list, short lines for drinks, just wish I had stuck around for the Meet N' Greet before heading to Seabrook Island that night. Saw some forum'ers, which was cool. You all do such a wonderful job handling this webspace, look forward to our next encounter!
