Hey everybody:
What does everybody know about trying to book Blind Melon to play at a college? I go to Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY which, for those of you who don't know the city, is an EXTREMELY Blind Melon-friendly community. I know Blind Melon is looking to head to Europe after their stint in Canada during the fall, but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask around and get some second opinions.
Best, Adam

Rogers!
It would be so great if we could have Blind Melon at Ithaca College. I sent you a message about what to do next in order to get this off the ground. Let me know!

Ithaca College would be perfect!! It's very close to me and you are totally right that it is the perfect town for Blind Melon! I bet there would be a great turnout and response. The only thing about college shows is sometimes they only let in students who go to that school and I don't want to have to transfer just to see Blind Melon (although I probably would). I went to Albany for a semester and some band, Plain White Tee's or something, came and they only let in students I believe... but maybe that was an isolated situation.

I'm voting for UNC @ Chapel Hill too (or any other college/university in the Triangle area)! Hmmm....how can we make this happen?

I don't think it was the college though...
It was at Maxs'..
The Kirksville show was at a college..
Norfolk may have been a college.... and a Pittsburg show back in 93..

Both of the old shows I saw were at colleges...one at George Mason University in VA and one at UMBC in Maryland.
Honestly, I prefer small venues to college gymnasiums because it's more intimate and the sound is better...but I guess you can fit more people in a gym.

I'm actually really digging them playing outdoors, i mean as long as the crowd if right not with a ridicules amount of people like the alive at five thing in CT and the downtown live in NC. it's really cool. being able to go shoeless not scared of stepping on any glass.
