Just wanted to wish everyone a great day! I hadn't "formally" introduced myself, though i've been lurkin around for a while off and on here. Some of you i've met through various shows, some i've talked to a bit here and there on the board, and i look forward to talkin, meeting up, and sharin' stories w/lots more of ya. Have been a BIG Blind Melon fan since before the first album came out. (before?? you say). yes... i had heard Shannon on the G&R album, and had started asking around. I got info from our Capital rep from the record store i worked at... she eventually got me some stuff to listen to.. and from then on... theres not been ONE day that there hasnt been a Melon CD or tape in my vehicle w/me. Be it the regular cd's or one of the many "import/bootleg" CD's that i bought way back when. (most all of which are available now in the downloads section). For the most part, over the years, i've just kept my "melon-ness" to myself. Because as i'm sure a number of you can relate to... a lot of the people surrounding you just know "no rain", and could care less about the rest. and i love how many people compare this place to the "opening of the gate to finding a field of other bees" 2 really cool stories i can share & keep quick 1) many moons ago, we had done the display for the Blind Melon album @ our store. Sent pics (as we always did) to our Rep @ capital... and one night @ work Brad (smith) called the store and thanked us for doin the display, and helpin promote the band. 2) the second one speaks for itself.... have several other pics @ my page... scattered in the ME pics, For my friends pics, and other albums. stop in and check 'em out if ya want. www.myspace.com/twiztid_3

thanks everyone.
As i touched on, i had just kinda kept the "melon" stuff to myself for all those years. Then last Oct. @ "the basement" show in Columbus, OH..... it all just exploded. Just standing in line ouside the club, seeing and meeting people that you could tell were TRUE fans (young and old), seeing Nel outside talking to everyone, hearing about how the vigil has become ... and the whole vibe. And even before going in, hearing the warm-up and hearing them break into "CHANGE"... i got goosebumps.
So @ the show, and at other shows, i met some cool people, and ended up here because of it. (but didnt register til May). I'm sooooo looking forward to meeting even more of you @ future shows, and the Vigil.
I appreciate all who run this board, and all that keep this community/family alive and well. If ya ever need help, let me know.
Peace, Love, and Happiness. ~matt
