Although people you meet at shows( Blind Melon or otherwise) seem cool you can't be to cautious. Just turn on the evening news at night to remind yourself how fucked up people can be. Unfortunately there are alot of chameleons out there! I agree with this statement. People prey on girls (obviously) from out of state or the country. This is very common and you are both very lucky that you were taken out in an ambulance from the arena and not out of a sleazy hotel room in body bags. Melons are a friendly bunch that will watch out for you...I'd bet my bottom dollar that they were local to that area and pegged you both as out of towners. (Again, no offense to anyone from that area but anyone with info please help this girl out!) Diana #hoonsmiley# PS-Rogers is the coolest!

I'm the friend in the aforementioned posts that was drugged at the show and subsequently taken to the hospital in LA. I am back home in Canada now and feeling pretty shitty about everything, life in general. The music of Blind Melon has always been there for me like a friend in the universe just for us and now it's all tainted and i feel so empty. Not to say that I've led a good or even decent life but this is truly disgusting. If anyone knows anything at all please let us know. Thanks for the support.

Don't let them take away what the music gave/gives you. You've already lost enough. LA is not exactly the suburbs either. In my city that stuff happens alot too. It's a shitty thing you've gone through but keep letting the music do what it's always done for you! Be well.... #hoonsmiley#

Everyone is right. It can happen anywhere so go to a BM show and have the time of your life! Just watch your drinks. I think we can all learn a lesson from this because I think we tend to be a little too trusting of other melons at shows.

I was at this show- i just googled to try and find a review of it (because it was awesome). I can't really say for sure because i don't know what you guys look like, but there were 2 girls right in front of us- in the front left by the wall if you're looking at the stage- who got carried out at different times who honestly were as messed up as anyone i'd ever seen at a concert. one was making out with a guy who looked like horatio sans from saturday night live and dancing in the craziest way ever- the other was just crazy messed up- stumbling thru people- i was scared she was going to puke on me. We all just assumed these people knew each other and were on some crazy drugs but perhaps it was you guys? Some girls i sort of knew helped them out as they got carried out. Anyone who was in the front left area would know what I was talking about- I bet even Chris the guitar player would know- it was pretty crazy how this one girl and guy were dancing. Again- don't know if this was you guys- could have been some fans on crazy drugs having too good of a time like everyone around us thought- but it was unmistakeably nuts. If I saw a picture I could definitely tell if it was you guys because my friends and everyone around us couldn't help but spend the first 20 minutes of the show watching these people be out of their minds. Hope that helps? maybe? On another topic- great show- i'd like to write a post about that but this seemed more pressing of an issue- -Danny

Back home and trying to feel ok. Thanks Danny for confirming what I thought! I am so embarrassed. I had 2 glasses of wine at supper and 2 shots before everything went blank. I am pretty sure that was us. I remember as soon as Blind Melon started (I remember the first song before my 8 hour amnesia) that my friend was dancing with this guy, and I was standing (as far as I know watching the show) we were in the section to the left by the stage. I just feel really messed up about all of this, the hospital could not provide any details about what time we were picked up, who called or where we got picked up (other then on Wilshire BLVD) I thought if I could understand maybe I would remember... I guess I just need to start healing and stop dwelling its just so hard. Thanks for the kind words. *Danny who were the girls that you 'sorta new' who may have helped me out? Please i would love to thank them, they may have saved my life.

I am so glad you are ok! I had a good friend have that happen at a concert a few weeks ago. It was really scary and she still doesn't rememeber anything. I hope everything works out for you. Rogers and that band never cease to amaze me with how gracious they are to their fans and how they take care of us! What other band would hear of something like this and personally respond?

im really sorry to read this, i cant even imagine to have an experience like that, but please don't let this ruin the magic of listening to BM... and even though this teachs us to be more careful on where we get our drinks i woulnd't recomend ya not to trust anyone... cause even in that kind of shitty situations there are good people that help, like the girl who helped ya, and people who called the ambulance... so yeah, we have to be careful but not mistrust everyone cause there are definitely some good people out there too! Hope u and your firend are feeling better and this never happens again Much melon love Elva

while totally completely embarrassed by this whole situation and my unbelievable behaviour at this show i am gonna pick up the pieces and move on. thanks to lafan777 for shedding some light on it but no more info is needed than that. i apologize for being such a disgraceful distraction at what I'm sure was a beautiful show and am at least somewhat comforted in knowing that in NO WAY would I have ever acted out like that under better circumstances. We are also grateful in a way that the night ended like it did as things could have been far worse. BM will always be there for me as they always have and in no way do i blame them for any of this, it was simply a matter of being targeted by gross evil people/person. Thanks again for the help and in a way i suppose this is one case where it seems a good thing to not remember.

Wow, that's so messed up. I'm so sorry to hear that happened. I hope you both recover fast and you get to see Blind Melon soon! Don't feel embarassed or bad about your behavour, it wasn't your fault or a choice you made! After what you've been through, the last thing you need is feeling embarassed about it although I know it's easier said than done. Sending good vibes your way!

Hey, I'm really sorry you girls had that happen to you. Like everyone else said it is disgusting that someone would do that to a couple of unsuspecting fans at a show. I was actually at the El Rey show. I got there between the opener and Melon, and I was standing in the front off to the right side, so if you were on the left I probably couldn't have seen you and I definitely wasn't aware that anyone was taken out in an ambulance. Sorry I can't help at all.
I'd also just like to say that the band was great, but in general I was pretty disappointed with a lot of the people that were there at the LA show, at least over where I was standing. I understand that it's a rock show and people are trying to have a good time, but your good time shouldn't be at the expense of anyone else's. Example: during the last song of the night some jackass started moshing by himself, completely blindsided me and made me knock over this little 5' tall girl. Keep in mind that I'm about 6'1 and 250lbs. I know it wasn't my fault but I felt horrible about it. This all just makes me lose a little bit of faith in the people of LA and the local rock scene that there are so many inconsiderate assholes that will try to ruin a good thing like a Melon show. Anyway, I'm really sorry you guys were preyed upon like that and I hope you're doing better and can eventually get over the damage.

It's true. One asshole can almost ruin a BM show. I wish everyone would just take a second to consider how their "good time" impacts those around them.
