I know Gabby, Karen, and Paul are going to this show tonight. I'm sure there are more forum members who will also be there.
I think the show will be special since Travis' mom is opening for them. I can't wait until the pics, videos, and stories start to roll in.
Have fun tonight! ;D

Hey Sonya just a little warning...I don't know about Dallas' HOB , but the Orlando HOB are asses when it comes to cameras of any type. They have a very strict NO CAMERAS WHAT-SO-EVER policy.
I know how the band is pic and video friendly but according to HOB it's not up to the band...... it's "house rules"
I hope I'm wrong about Dallas and hope everyone can capture the special memories from the show and I hope everyone has an awesome time tonight!

Awesome show. The band did a terrific job, and Travis's signing was right on cue. I liked the extended jam during "No Rain" and they totally nailed "I Wonder." Props to Travis's mom, Tennessee Tuckness, too. She put on an awesome performance. All of that was fantastic... #rock453# Now on to the shit that damn near ruined the show. It needs to be said, so I'm saying it. I paid money to see a concert tonight--not to babysit a couple of drunks who act like little children and don't know how to keep their hands to themselves. #catfight# Having to break up a fight isn't exactly my idea of a fun time, and when grown people act that way in public (especially when we've got visitors from out of state), it gives Texas a bad name. I recall Travis saying "Come on, guys, this isn't a Cannibal Corpse concert--it's Blind Melon." For real. Grow up, kids. Also, the venue sucked a really, really big fat one. Not only were the acoustics horrible and the beer all served in cans, but the security was throwing people out of the concert for taking 1-minute videos on their iPhones. The security didn't seem to care that this band tends to be relatively taper-friendly or that these video clips aren't of commercial quality and are only being taken to post on YouTube or MySpace later (which promotes the tour, in my opinion--it is, after all, really, really good advertising). Security was also kicking people out for smoking pot, which I guess I can understand seeing as how it's illegal, but the security guys aren't even cops (and pot shouldn't be illegal anyhow, but that's just one man's opinion). #rastava6# To sum it up, Blind Melon kicked ass and the House of Blues sucked ass. All in all, a good night though. Hope to see them again soon.

Well kids, the show was great. The boys were on but there was a little problems with Travis's mic. Set list was: Galaxie 2x4 Toes For My Friends Soup Drive Paper Scratcher Sleepyhouse Sometimes I Wonder (Sonya, did you hear?) Last Laugh Wishing Well Change Hypnotized Skinned (no bubble machine ) Soak the Sin Wilt No Rain The Pusher Encore: Time Lots of people showed up for the show and the crowd was enthusiast....perhaps a little too much. There were at least 2 fights, one of which involved our poor Gabby. Some "fine" BM fans did a little too much pushing and caused a little problem with some other guy who was in the second row with us. So during Change (of all songs) he grabbed and pushed Gabby. A nice guy stepped in (Paul was already on the other side of the venue having broken up another fight) and punched the ass. Poor Gabby has a Blind Melon battle wound: I didn't have any problem taking pictures. I have some uploading now and will post in a few minutes. My only complaint about HOB is that the drinks are WAY overpriced. On a very cool note, Travis used Paul's kazoo for Skinned. The guys hung out for a bit after the show and talked for a while which was cool as always. I'm sure the guys think we're stalkers but they're still kind to us all. All three openers were cool. Unfortunately we got there a bit late and missed some of Travis's mom's set but I got some pics. Moonlight Towers were awesome too. It defintely passed time without being painful, as some openers can be.

THANK YOU FOR CALLING ME DURING I WONDER! I could totally hear it. I was in bed when you called so I didn't hear it ring, but it was awesome to wake up this morning to that message!
I have to say that I hate the House of Blues in general. We saw Ben Harper at the Myrtle Beach House of Blues last year and they were total nazis.
Sorry to hear about all of the fights. What's up with that? Why are people fighting at a Blind Melon show anyway? That's lame. I want to kick the ass of whoever bruised Gabby.
I'm surprised Tennessee and Travis didn't sing Cheatem St. together. Did she join them on stage at all during their set?

Maaan, what a show. It's on my top 3 for sure, despite the sound problems and the idiot that started all that crap. If you were at the Dallas show, had a God's Presents tattoo on your forearm, PICKED a fight, pushed and hurt a FEMALE MELONHEAD (and some male ones too) during none other than SHANNON HOON'S goddamn song about CHANGE: YOU ARE A FUCKING DOUCHEBAG!!! This guy got there half way through the show, pushed and took the spot of a truly kind melonhead (David ? Sorry, I forgot your name but you know who you are). When he tried to squeeze back onto the second row he got pushed again and when I tried to talk to the guy about it I got pushed too (aggressively). Another very sweet melonhead (who drove 10 hours all the way from New Mexico just to see that one show) tried to knock some sense into that BASTARD (literally)... I do not condone violence in any way, but he sure deserved to get his ass kicked. There was a truly magic outstanding unity going on before the fight and honestly as soon as the guy got kicked out it went right back to that: MAGIC. Another shout out to Josh (aka FRANK! ;D) who I had not even talked to before the happening, but yet he kindly offered his front row spot (that he had been holding since before we even got there, mind you).. That was very sweet (and I hope you stop being a lurker and join the forum already, damn it!). Now on to the shit that damn near ruined the show. I agree with everything you said man, but honestly I think it does NOT give Texas a bad name because most Texans are not like that or for that (Im sure you know that though). I don't know if I just got a lucky spot but I met some incredible people and I was definitely feeling the love. Heck, random strangers would randomly hug during songs... Everyone had silly grins on their faces, everyone becoming family the instant they met. One guy's actions do not reflect the group... Brad even said outside that he felt last night was very special. Anyway, I just wanted to clarify that there was not a negative vibe at all.. At least I didn't catch it. I was very proud that the place I "come from" showed so much love and unity, I certainly didn't expect to see and meet so many die hard melonheads there (and you are right, there were A LOT of visitors and all the ones I met were awesome!) Thanks to all who were a part of it, and while the guy that started the fight was removed from the venue you could see that he certainly regretted that he was going to miss most of the show... I hope it serves as a lesson, no one should be starting fights at a Blind Melon show because of a goddamn spot on the second row (or for any other reasons, for that matter). You missed out on a great experience, man. PS: I missed the rest of my forum peeps! Thought of yall the whole time!!!
