OK, so we finally left the house around 7pm, we went to get gas and and I was pumping I was thinking how lucky I am that this show is only a hour drive away. So that made me happy because I was actually going. Then we were on our way down to Toledo. My wife pulls out our tickets and receipts from ticket master. When I saw the words Blind Melon on a pair of brand new tickets I went into some kind of zone. I cant explain it. I couldn't let go of the tickets and eventually my wife asked me if I was OK because I was so quiet. I told her I feel great, like I'm on top of a mountain. She asked me "what did you put in that pipe of yours?" We parked across the street from Frankie's, and the tour bus was parked right in front. I got a picture of me using a camera phone standing in front of the bus. The I rounded the corner of the bus and went up on the sidewalk. It was there that I saw Travis, standing there with some pretty ladies. As I walked past I just couldn't help it, I just kind of said his name"Travis", and he looked at me from a few feet away. I was speechless. Then finally I got out "what can I say man? Thank you. You guys sound great together." I told him about the post on the forum where I said the stars are still aligned. He was so cool about it, thanking me and telling me "right on brother." That was great. We got in line outside then finally got in at 9. We walked all the way to the back and found a huge smoking section outside. Then we went back towards the entrance and it is then that I saw Nel next to the table of t-shirts. I didn't waste any time going over to say hello. I told her that I'm a huge fan of Shannon's, showed her my Airwalks, which are similar to the ones he was wearing on the cover of Nico. She says "Oh, I should have worn Shannon's shoes." We talked a bit about Travis and the band and her website. The rest I would like to keep to myself out of respect to Nel. She made me feel very comfortable and was so down to Earth. So I am on such a high already, no drink, no acid, no hard drugs, just a real natural high that was keeping me in a good mood. I made my way back into the crowd, hung out towards the back. Some guy with a acoustic guitar and a beatbox played, then some band with an accordion played, then Blind Melon took the stage and the crowd got really loud. They sounded great. I moved around a little during the show, staying towards the back and waving my arms, dancing with thumb in hand. And when I say they sounded great, I mean they sounded great. The place was small for 300 people. The stage was small. Glen was stuck behind the stage, sort of. But it was simply a flawless show. I had so much fun. I didn't care about it being packed. I got shoved a couple times but it didn't even phase me. I had my eyes, ears and mind focused on the stage. They were having a great time up there. Completely blowing my wig back. They sounded as heavy, groovy, mellow and crazy as they wanted to, and it was perfect. At one point I noticed I was standing next to a big man in a bee suit. That was a trip. Did I mention they sounded great? Jeffrey

Oh yeah I forgot, we went back to the car after we got stamped to hide the t-shirts I bought. On my way back into the club I came around the front of the bus again and saw Travis a second time. This time I told him I'm a big fan of what he's doing and told him he was a great singer, songwriter, guitarist and fits right in with the band. He was very appreciative and my wife took a picture of us but it didn't turn out too good. That's OK, I still have that memory.
