Sometimes, you have moments when you are utterly at loss to express the feeling in words, that is how I felt about the show on Monday Oct 8th. The energy of the band was great, it was so apparent how truly happy they were to be doing this. the energy of the crowd was exuberantly ecstatic. I went through every emotion imaginable, from bittersweet to ecstasy, mouthful of cavities moved me to a cleansing flow of tears. After the show I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Chris and Travis...how refreshing and absolutely perfect they were. I live in Houston, and about 3 weeks or so before I left on a trip to Burlington, VT for a wedding, I saw the post on myspace about the tour dates. They were going to be playing in Burlington the night before I left to come back home! How meant to be was that? I had never seen them, and truly thought that I never would. This is a dream come true for me. Chris said they were hoping to play in Houston at some point and I CAN"T WAIT!!! I'm so ready to quit my job and travel now, kids, husband and all! I can dream can't I? First of all jldunn77, welcome to the Blind Melon Forum! I loved your post. It was great. It sounds like you had a wonderful time. I think Blind Melon will make many dreams come true on this tour. Many people never got a chance to see them, including me. I can't tell you what these reviews are doing for the anticipation of finally seeing them in Colorado. I am waitng (not-so-patiently).

I also was not into the openers. Not my thing ~ they weren't horrible, but I wasn't feelin' it. Maybe the anticipation of what was to come with blind melon was throwing me off, but I wasn't into those bands either. Getting back to clapping guy ~ Did anyone else hear this guy? I think at one point I did hear someone guy yell for him to shut the f!% up - but I was just curious on what others thought b/c it was pretty damn annoying!

I was fortunate enough to have seen Blind Melon more than once, from before the first album to their final tour. Their music played a huge role for me through some very tough times. It is such a joy to see them playing again. I can tell what a great time that you all had. Thank you so much for bringing me to the concert with your words and videos. Let me say the band has always taken the time to speak with their fans. I think that's what always made them so special, they were just regular guys who played great music. So many of their contemoraries were caught up with it all, but BM genuinely enjoyed playing to their fans. I spoke with all of them (except Shannon, too many girls around him) after each show. Rogers even invited me and the girls I was with to a party at London Bridge but we couldn't go. What we were thinking! I could kill that waittress that had to work in the morning . . . anyways, the best part was seeing how much the boys obviously enjoyed playing live again.

The clapping guy(s) were right next to me..They had quite a few in them but were pretty harmless untill the terrible claps started..One of them actually got shoved by a girl next to them because she was so annoyed of it all..pretty funny..

One thing I noticed from the videos -and I could be way off- is that Travis seemed a little nervous on the NYC show. Did you guys think so too? He would walk back and forth on the stage and didn't really play with the crowd while on the others he seems more relaxed, dancing, smiling, screaming, feeding off the crowd.

I didn't want to say anything but it was obvious that between songs he didn't feel comfortable staying in one place so he would start pacing. Poor thing! Its definately a sign of nerves. Its hard to stop yourself from doing that.....and from saying "UM" when you are nervous.

I wonder what made him more of a "Nervous Nelly" (sorry I had to throw that one in) at the NY show then the first show. Maybe somewhat specail was there to see him.

If I was Travis I would be so nervous, I'd probably puke. He really can wail though, a great lead singer!

Just got to the hotel after the Columbus show. Oh my god! Best concert I have ever been to. Nel was there too. She came on stage in the beginning and at the end before the encore. I shook Brad's hand Chris gave me the peace sign. Damn, it was so much fun. This girl in front of me was shooting some video. I'm gonna check tomorrow on YouTube and see if it's up. They played "Sometimes" for the first time on the tour too. I can't wait to see them again.

When she first came out, she goes up to the mic and says, "Isn't it about time?"

I'm still riding the high from the CANAL ROOM show. Like many of you, I never saw them before and the anticipation was SOOO HIGH. I couldn't get over how tight they sounded, how good Travis is, and above all the crowd was so cool. I made so many friends that night and I was sad the next day at work (not to mention hung over) but sad that the show was over and that I couldn't follow them on this tour!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the wonderful show!!!!

i just saw the boys in chicago and it was amazing. i just happened to be in chicago for one night and they were there. it was great. travis sounds awesome and it was just so great to finally see them all live and togetehr. i had seen christoper and brad in la a few years ago, but this just blew me away. i talked with them a bt after and they said they would be adding dates so thats cool. hopefully they will come to the westcoast soon. on the plane home yesterday i listened to them and just thought how cool they all are and how great their music is. its definitely worth making a trip to see them if they play anywhere near you.
