Hey melons, we started talking with Paul about renting a motorhome and follow the band on tour, at least a part of the tour. But since we're in Europe we don't know how things are in U.S.A. and Canada and what kind of laws you have. Are you allowed to sleep in a motorhome wherever you want? Like just park in the city and sleep there? Or you have to be in a camp (so you have additional costs paying the camping place)? How much a camp costs, approximatly?
I'd also like to know if anyone could recommend any companies that rent motorhomes, as cheap as possible of course. I feel a little lost about it and I'm not sure where to search.
And another important question: WHO WANTS TO JOIN?!?
There's place for 4 to 7 people usualy but of course we could rent more than one motorhome if more melons would be interested.
What do you say melons?

There are plenty of KOA www.koakampgrounds.com/ campgrounds around to put the motorhome but I see alot of people who park and sleep in the Wal Mart parking lots. Every town has a Wal Mart! I wouldn't be able to get off work to follow them, I wish I could I still plan on attending every show that I will be able to, DC or Baltimore and I don't mind driving to the surrounding areas.

Thanks for the link Mere, I'll check it out! Can't you get some hollidays? Or you want to spend them in another way? It's expensive for us, non american melons to fly to the states so you can imagine that once we are there we want to get as much melon as possible! So apparently it's not illegal to park and sleep on the parking lots. That's good news The only problem will be water, we need to shower, lol! But it's still good to know that we can park and sleep without paying a camping, maybe we could do it from time to time. By the way, I forgot to mention, if the band will be touring in september we'd go to the vigil too!

I am almost positive that Wal-Mart and Sams Wholesale Club allow any RV's (motorhomes) to park in their parking lots overnight. Obviously you wouldn't have any way to hook up water and sewer, but if you just needed a place to park the motorhome and sleep without worrying about getting in trouble it's always an option.
I know for the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee the Wal-Mart parking lot is "the place to be" in the days prior to Bonnaroo because people who rent or own RV's can all congregate there.
...oh yeah, and if the time was right Greg and I would be interested in travelling for a few days. We really have to wait for concrete tour dates though because we would need to arrange childcare.

By the way Barb, in the town I live in there are a whole bunch of places that either sell or rent RV's. I can do some research if you want and see if you can rent from them and how much it would cost. Greg and I have researched how much it would cost to rent one a couple of years ago, but I don't know if the prices are the same now.

Thanks for the link Ryan! ...oh yeah, and if the time was right Greg and I would be interested in travelling for a few days. We really have to wait for concrete tour dates though because we would need to arrange childcare. Yeah, it would be cool if we'd know more about the tour dates but I guess even the band doesn't know yet... I'm thinking about all this and planning although it's still very early and I have no idea where I'll be in a few months...I just hope I won't be stuck here in september because of work or something like that! Even if it's early to plan things precisely, I want to check out things and see how much it would cost, how we should plan things. Can you tell I'm excited?! That would be great! If they sell them really cheap it we could even consider buying one although I doubt it would be cheaper then to rent it for a few weeks. But you never know, hehe... You can also give me their links if you don't want to spend too much time searching and looking, as you wish! Thanks for all the info!
