Football (or soccer as you call it) would be your favourite sport to watch, mainly because you can watch it whilst drunk and still know whats going on. Please be sure to ban the super bowl as well? Im sure you'd be hated on by the Americans more than Bush is just for that, but ehhh who cares, after they actually watch a soccer match they'll forget all about that other gay sport... hehehe, sorry football fans

Woah, this thread is 2yrs out. Just thought I'd weigh in on BTM. Think I stumbled onto the Bush beating, hoo hoo shoot thread!! Maybe it's just the "beating Bush's hoo hoo shoot" thread!hahaha! (Sometimes I worry about myself) Anyway, having just seen this BTM, I pretty much already knew how it was going to be. That it was centered around Shannon and not the band. That it was mostly about his drug use and the awful outcome. With this info in hand and the knowledge that there WAS more to him than that, the heavy concentration on his drug use isn't what I took away from this film. First of all, I completely ignored the narrator. That part is ALWAYS over-dramatized.
I, too, tear up when I see Nel. Her pain is my greatest fear; to lose a child. That pain would be just as bad if it were a car accident or otherwise. At least to me.
There are snippets where I can see beyond the drugs, and tell that Shannon was a fun loving guy, living every moment to the fullest. Things got out of hand, out of control for him, and that can happen to anyone. I liked the personal touches with the journal and so forth. I get from this that he had a number of people who saw him as an incredible person and are greatly affected by his death. A mother who is so devoted.....Friends who will never forget him. But the one thing I take away from this, the one image that I simply cannot get out of my head:
Shannon holding baby Nico and just kissing her over and over and over..... Then, I cry.

I haven't seen Behind the Music of Blind Melon. I'll take your word for it and avoid it, having seen them do the same thing with Sublime, another of my favorite bands that came to a similar end. the only good BTM episode I've ever seen was Megadeth, which was so good I bought it on DVD. Other than that, they're pretty much all shit.

They did the same thing with the Sublime BTM. I want to remember these guys for how they lived, not how they died.
