I agree with everyone too. I think all of the BTMs are done in the same format. I've watched GN'R's BTM and I saw Megadeth's once, and they both had drug addiction as one of the biggest themes.

I call it the sadness and depressing video, because I can't watch at it without starting to cry like a river, I don't hate it completely all the part when Nel talk about his as a baby or the part with the baby Nico are good and I like them. But it's true that video it's all about Shannon's drugs-habit, drugs and drugs again, he seems a weird-junkie-mad guy, I don't want to think about him in that way. because I'm sure he wasn't like that. Maybe I haven't express in the right way what I want to say but loving shannon I don't want to see him in that way, although he had some problems with the drugs and everyone knows, but he was such a GREAT person with a great heart so funny and pleasant with all the fans (I love the way he talked with the aliens during the concerts) with a big charm and a wonderful and unforgettable smile, this is the Shannon I want to remember a smilling beautiful man.

I actually dug the fact that they showed us some rare stuff Shannon did while in the band. Yes, I think it's very sad. At the same time, it was good to hear CT, Brad, and Rogers all talk about Shannon years later... Seeing smiles on the faces of the guys when talking about the "good times"....
I don't think it's "shit". It's definitely a sad episode though. I shed a tear whenever I see Nel breaking down.

I think it's shit because I think it's just pure shit. I'm glad you found some positivity in it.

I think people wanted people to hear the story... and by "people" I mean, everyone that took part in the show. Hell, if Nel didn't want anything to do with it, she wouldn't have agreed to be a part of it... much like Glen did.
All of these shows may be depressing.. they do tend to focus on "what went wrong"... But, not just for entertainment (as in buyrates)...but education.

Yeah, that's right Matt. I also think to some extent that it's inevitable that the documentary would mostly focus on Shannon rather than Blind Melon as a whole... after all I doubt Blind Melon - Behind The Music would be made if it wasn't because of Shannon's death (as sad as that is to admit. Does anyone agree? )

I bet if you were to ask each Band member and Nel and Lisa and Jones they'd probably tell you that they were each interviewed for about an hour. Covering from when they first met Shannon til his departure. So, If you have 7 hours of thoughts being crammed into 45 mins.
I bet they ALL had the most Wonderful things to say about Shannon, but in typical Media fashion Producers got to pick and choose what They wanted to portray. I'm sure the boys wanted everyone to see what they were all about and what a great Musician/person/dad Shannon was.
I did love seeing the home movies. Those were great. What i'd GIVE to sit and watch those for days on end!!! I would suspect they are under Nel's or Lisa's care. mmmmmm
