Check them out! They are awesome! It's a girl and a guy, they do lots of metal song covers, it's crazy how they play, I love it! Paul and I discovered them by coincidence, we were checking which show is in the Ancienne Belgique venue on dec. 3 when we were going to meet in Brussels and it was them. We checked the music online and loved it right away. I think they are amazing already only to listen at home but live - woah! I was in trance during the whole show, one of best shows ever. Apparently they're pretty known cause most of their shows are sold out. I don't know if that was the case on dec.3rd cause we got ticks from a guy outside the venue but it was fully packed. I also have to say it's an awesome venue! Enough rambling, here's the music! Myspace page: profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=44592846homepage: www.rodgab.com/an AMAZING Stairway to Heaven cover! www.dailymotion.com/related/4711905/video/x2580e_rodrigo-y-gabriela-stairway-to-heav_creationtheir first single: www.dailymotion.com/related/4896082/video/x2szq9_rodrigo-y-gabriela-tamacunMetallica cover: www.dailymotion.com/related/4896082/video/x2szq9_rodrigo-y-gabriela-tamacunThere's also lots of vids on Youtube. We ran into Rodrigo after the show and showed him our enthousiasm but he didn't seem to be in the mood to talk to us, I was wondering if our enthousiasm scared him away I mean he was nice but I found him a bit cold, or maybe i was just too drunk, lol. Their manager talked to us instead, I guess he manages fans too, lol!

Jooo Barb!!!
Good you mention these virtuoso duo here.... they are incredible!!! Never heard anything like this! And I am listing to it now and it gets me tripping again, eyes closed and just go with the flow... try to get mentally (only by music, no lyrics) out of this sometimes shitty world...
Maybe you can relate this to the (discussed) ' bee girl' getting out in the field wanting to dance on good tunes and not be bothered by nowadays bullshits...
yeah, please fellow melonheads, take 10 mins of your time and check out these links. they are fabulous... and Brussels was BEAT all the way by their performance!
A dutchie Melonhead.

The girl surely has a pretty name though yep, best one ever i'm sure that's why she's so good on guitar too. I met a guy today and mentioned them to him and he knew them and loved them too!!!!!!!!! i almost hugged him for it, not sure why i didn't cause he was awesome. i guess i felt it would be too much two minutes after i met him...lol. not all people understand why you feel happy to meet another same-band lover.

Yeah!!!! Their shows are incredible!!! The music is already tripping when you only listen to a CD, imagine being at a show with great sound and them jamming!!! And it's not like there's a few songs that do this to you, I was totally tripping during the whole show! So if you get a chance, go see them! Since they'll be playing in Texas, I checked the dates to see if they'll do a few shows on the East-Coast (never give up on dreams ) but they won't. How cool would it be to see another RYG show during the melon tour. I was also hoping I could catch a Dave Matthews Band show somewhere during the melon tour but no luck with that either. It looks as if 8 melon shows during my trip just isn't enough but it's not true, it's just that I keep on dreaming, lol.

oh, and also, what I love about RYG is that it's not just some pure "technical" music. When bands play very fast, I often find it without feeling, like they lost it. But RYG have so much feeling in it! at least to me, of course it's always personal to some extend.
