Our local radio station Q92 was playing classic rock on Saturday. They played No Rain and the guy says "man, people who bought the record were in for a surprise because this band was rock & blues and everything in between, they are one of the most underated bands in rock and it's a real shame their lead singer died". I thought yeah, people think were hicks up here but we sure know where the music's at. Geez I was real proud of being a hick. Just though I'd let you all know.

Man, that's awesome... on the occasion the light rock station plays no rain, they never say anything... just go right to Wham or Kelly Clarkson...

That sucks! Over here they play it on the rock station, on Saturday's it's classic rock all day and Sunday nights they'll play an entire cd with no commercials. Tonight was Thin Lizzy, that was a great band also.

That`s great!.. The local rockstation here plays Zeppelin,Gn`r,Queen,Sabbath,Maiden and Kiss 10 times a day.The only Blind Melon song i have heard was No Rain(of course) and that happened maybe twice if even that. It`s a shame..

Woah, nice.. can you request which CD?? Yes, people call in their requests but it's no guarantee that yours will be played. They also have something called the drive at 5 during rush hour traffic, you call in your request live and if you're lucky and get through they'll play whatever you want.

Hi ishbell & everyone, That IS awesome! I do not listen to the radio very often anymore (usually just CD's-mostly BM of course) but strangely enough, a few weeks ago I was on my way home (about a 10min. drive) & had the radio on our local alternative & rock station (a really good station) & they played No Rain. I was VERY suprised! The DJ did not say anything after but did announce that it was Blind Melon & the song title. But one of the DJ's during the morning is a BIG Shannon & BM fan (I read her bio online a while back). Anyways, I WISH they would play more BM on the radio. Most people who are not Melonheads have NO IDEA how GREAT all of the rest of their music is! While No Rain is a GREAT song & I love it, it is not their best song (in my opinion). I just wish that more people who do not know BM would have the chance to discover one of the GREATEST (THE greatest in my opinion) bands ever. Have a great day everyone! -J.

I sure wish I'd hear Blind Melon on radio sometimes! I don't remember hearing them, ever. I only remember seeing No Rain video once or twice when it was popular... I agree that it would be really cool if they played other BM songs too, the guy on the radio said it very well, Blind Melon is one of the most underated bands in history (personaly I'd say the MOST underated of course). It's not right they played only No Rain so much, I like this song a lot (as ALL of them) but it's never been my favorite and also if they'd play other songs more, maybe more people would get into them, people who maybe don't apreciate No Rain so much that it'll make them check their music more.
It reminds me how a few weeks ago I was discussing about music with a guy that I met and of course had to bring up Blind Melon. I took my cdman out and gave him to listen a little to the self titled. He said it was great and that he'll have to check them out! Then I told him that they had a big hit and showed him No Rain so that maybe he'd recognise the song. But he didn't and he said: "if this was the song that you'd show me first, I wouldn't say that I have to check them out!" Of course I told him quickly that he HAS to and that this is not their typical song at all! Anyways, I was actualy very glad that he liked the other songs more than No Rain, not cause No Rain isn't cool or something but because for me it was kind of a sign that he'll really dig them if he gives it a listen!
