I am curious, I know most of you on here like rock, folk, country and other types of music. But specificly, what is your favorite type? I love anything folk, but on the other extreme sometimes secretly listen to rap....shhhh, don't tell my daughter! I preach how bad and mysoginistic it is--lol

I like a wide variety. I have everything from Ray Lamontagne, Candlebox, Sarah McLachlan, Frank Sinatra, and 2Pac... to Huffamoose, Joan Osbourne, Megadeth, Testament, MC Ren, and Mazzy Star Cds... And, you can fill in the blanks. Hahah...

I am pretty open minded music wise and if I like a song or an album then I get it.
Letss see, my collections ranges from.....Janis Joplin to Pink....from the Toadies to Lords of Acid.....I even have a thing for Ghostface Killah (rapper).
I like anything unique and that took talent to create, I hate processed music.
My mom raised me on 60's and 70's Rock and I knew the lyrics to mostly all of The Who, The Doors, and Led Zep by the time I went to kindergarten.
I love classical music too, Mozart's Missa Brevis in D is a Masterpeice.

Oh, I can listen everythig , except for drum&bass and club music ..brrr ( I love counry (American) and the Irish folk music. I was very much pleased Mike Ness's (Social Distortion) solo project, in its music a lot of American folk. About five years ago has taken a great interest in the punk - Rancid, some early album of Green Day was great, Bad Religion, Ramones, The Clash - it`s classic for me. I listened to all childhood glam - early GnR, Skid Row, Kiss. Also Bon Jovi, Led Zep, Dire Str, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Europe, Faith no more, INXS, Wham!, Alphaville, Bob Marley, Def Leppard, Culture Club, Alice in Chains, RunDMC and many many other.. My musical preferences have stopped somewhere on groups 1980 - 1998

Thanks you guys for posting. It's fascinating to read what types of music differnet people like. We are a very diverse group, but sometimes if I know a fellow melon likes a particular type of music, I am more open minded to trying it, even if normally I wouldn't listen twice.

I'm into trance a little bit too...not really techno or that house shit but real trance. A little bit of alternative country, like wilco and i just kinda got into lucinda williams...she can wail. I enjoy most folk music... am currently way into Russian Music... I'm open minded as well.. though ya.. club type music annoys me... Rock, Folk, Jazz, Swing... anything ever recorded during the turn of the century... russian music? like who? explain this j.r.

I listened to Beatles & Elton John when I was a preteen. Then I was into Kiss,Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Hendrix,Rush,The Doors,Deep Purple,Dio,Judas Priest through my teens(the Early 80's) Then it was metallica, slayer, megadeth, anthrax for a couple years.I actually got into "Kreator"for a minute.I was Living in Ann Arbor for a while and liked Genesis,Tom Petty,Steve Winwood, Then Guns & Roses,Then the whole Grunge scene. After coming out of it all alive,I started listening to Collective Soul alot.In 96 I got turned on to Blind Melon & they've just stayed my favorite band since then. I started listening to whatever was popular on the radio for awhile around that time also. Lately I like TapRoot,Our Lady Peace,Monster Magnet,The Tragically Hip,10 years,Three days grace,Kings X,Mother Love Bone,Karma to Burn,Sevendust,GodSmack,Unified Theory,Depswa,The White Stripes,Audioslave etc.,etc. I can tolerate the radio now and then but I usually have a Blind Melon CD in My van or our other, klunker of a ride, vehicle.Peace Melons
