Right on. I find it very cool that someone your age digs such a great band. That's inspiring to me.

This thread reminds me of why I love you all so much...it's the only place where I feel like people UNDERSTAND. All of you guys already said everyhting so I don't know what else to say except that I sooo agree with you and feel what you're saying.
And a small story (one of thousands I could tell but this one is more recent); about a week ago, we were on a short trip with my friends, we took a break from driving and I phoned a "friend" who TOTALY pissed me off. I usualy don't want to bother my friends with Blind Melon cause they're not into them and they don't understand anyway but this time, when I hung up the phone and we continued the ride and I was soooo pissed off, I was thinking...I have to calm down, what can I do...? And I said to my friends "I need this now, this is my best medicine" and I put Blind Melon up loud and sing along...after a few songs, I felt like all the bad vibes got out of me. Really, there's no better medicine...
And about Shannon...I won't even go into it...but every time I hear his voice...fuck, I wish he was still here. Like all of us, I know, but I'm telling this here cause I know you all know this feeling and you all know what I mean.
love ya #hugs#

Thanks for adding that in here Barbara. I'll keep that medicine idea in mind. First I have to get past the funk I'm in now.
And yes, I listened to Soup on the way home last night and sho' 'nuf, it happened again. Being honest, there's more going on than what I'm telling y'all. It's all one huge sense of loss all at once. Perhaps sometime soon, like later today, I'll throw it out here. Maybe some of you have been where I'm at. Any little tidbit of inspiration and sign of hope would be quite helpful.

Oh, and I decided what I'm going to play on this weeks BZT show by Blind Melon. They'll get a double whammy of Dumptruck/Car Seat being they flow together so well.

I get a big lump in my chest when listening to Shannon sing and realizing he's gone, its so hard to fall in love with his voice and realize that this is all you will ever get from him, and to imagine the songs that could have been....I know he must be singing to the angels in heaven right now.

I agree Mere and for me, sometimes I laugh, sometimes I cry, sometimes I just enjoy it for what it is. Other times, his voice can bring me to my knees with it's beauty. No one moves me that way, NO ONE! Diana #hoonsmiley#

Totally agree with everything said here. Blind Melon and Shannon were, and still are a massive part of my life and remind me of great Sun filled days. I'm lucky to have seen 'em at Reading Festival UK '95. I got busted at College once for a minor Grass offence and during the subsequent hearings (i was on a Music course) i always put the inlay to Blind Melon Blind Melon in my Suit Jacket pocket for good luck. At the time, i was playing that Album consecutively and particularly Sleepyhouse! I thought that Song was apt for my current troubles. I later was reinstated at the College and my Melon head breathed a sigh of relief. I love this Band and will always miss Shannon. I hope the rest of the lads get together again as i think Blind Melon, done correctly, is better than none. Look at AC/DC when Bon died. They came back brighter than ever although we will always miss Bon. Peace guys. It's my Bed time. 1.37am in England..... So glad i found this Forum.... See ya soon ya'll

Hey Matt, they are together again... Yeah, i know. I was just making the point really that if it's done correctly, then it will be great! I feel funny sometimes when a Band re-forms without such a key player. For example, Thin Lizzy without Phil Lynott is really not Thin Lizzy. I'm a huge Who fan and the Band without Moony really wasn't The Who but they continued and you could still call it The Who. When Entwistle died though, it ceased to be The Who for me but as i say, look at /DC. I'm sure Melons will be great again!!!! Here's hoping. I'm really excited about it!! Does anyone know what the new guy is like?

I love it when these theads pop up every now and then. It`s enough that one Melon starts writing something emotinal about Shannon and everybody else joines in.. To read these comments sure makes me feel so much better. First when i joined it took a while to understand how easy it is to share feelings here because folks here feel the same way..
You guys are special!,everyone of you!
