Hi, I was just listening to the hidden track on Soup again for the first time in a long time. Near the end I swear Shannon's singing "...Here, I'm up in the arms of the infinite one." Heheh, anyway... thought I'd share.

Ill have to listen closer, for some reason I always hear that track in the car and I'm half paying attention to the song because I am driving.

Was that track "Hello Goodbye" always a hidden track? On my version of Soup, it is not hidden. I bought Soup right when it was released. Is it possible that the track was not hidden on the initial release? I know that there are two versions of what's printed on the actual CD. My version has the ashtray on the CD.
I have heard people refer to this song as the hidden track for a long time, and it must be true on some of the CDs, but it doesn't seem hidden on my version. . .

If Hello/Goodbye isn't the "hidden track" then I wonder if my version of Soup even has a hidden track. I just tried to skip the disc backwards from track one and it doesn't skip backwards. Maybe I have never heard this hidden track?

U know what, it could be your player. I came across it by total accident, way back in i had my first copy of SOUP. I didn't have a nite stand, and was borrowing mom's cheap G.E. cd player. it was one the floor, and i kicked it by accident. I heard this crzy music. i thought i broke her machine. then the song went into *hello Goodbye*.... I now know to HOLD down the seak button on the first track (reverse) and it Should take you back to about 2:24 seconds. my mom's player would seek back past the first song. so i had to keep hitting her machine to get it to come up. once the Hidden track came up i could seek it back to the beginning. I got on the NET (which was in it's early stages) cause i had to share what i thought was a major discovery...but in fact seemed common knowledge..Hate when that happens..lol..
OH, i dunno if i'm clear here. let me know Ryan. I'll try to help you out...
hey, if you can give me bout 15 mins. i'll try to post it...(brain storming)

Thanks Kevin, I will try kicking my CD player! Cool, maybe I will try and seek backwards instead of skipping backwards. I'm sure everyone knows about this besides me.

That was it. Seek backwards instead of skip backwards. Thanks for letting me hear something new that I have never heard before. I hardly feel like a good fan at the moment. I have owned the CD for over a decade and never discovered it. Kevin, thanks again!

yeah, seems to me a long time ago i played it in reverse...
if i remember correctly, it Shannon's Vocals singing New Life. I used to think the guitar sounded backwards...but once i played the song backwards, Shannons vocals were in forward and the guitar then really sounded backwards...LOL eyes crossed yet?..haha #sillytc3#
*still workin on it...10 mins..haha i said 15 mins about 25 mins ago...*

On my Soup CD, I can't skip or seek backwards, the hidden song plays when I seek forwards after the last track (Lemonade). The first time I heard the song was when the CD finished playing and I didn't hit stop, so it kept playing, there's a silence for some time and then the hidden track starts. I thought I'd share if anyone else is trying to figure out how to hear it and it doesn't work like for some of you.

In the interest of saving future CD players from a beating, and to make it easy on every one Ta-Da....here is that link... www.megaupload.com/?d=4382QIN4(hidden Track)oki.i've been wracking my brain trying to figure out a way to give u guys the *reversed version* as of yet I dunno...BUT if you want to hear it that way..and if you have QuickTime Player. (i have mac, so hopefully its the same for y'all).... ok, so load up the track. If you are able to open up what's called the *A/V control* you should see what's called *Jog Shuttle*....hold it on about 1/3 reverse to hear the track played backward and what Shannon is Singin in forward. be well ~k, gonna finally shower now, and go to WalMart..lol*

T'anks fer posting that, tripticket. Mer-de-myth, I think that part of the song I mentioned happens shortly after the break-down into minor key (after the time signature change?) Bye for now! S!

I had to see it for myself but the link didn't work for me and I had too much time in my hands so I copied the song from my cd to my computer, turned it backwards and converted it to mp3- format. It is indeed New Life.
