I almost put this under the Shannon's religious beliefs, but noticed that thread has been asleep for sometime.
Anyway, a LONG time back I happened to come across what Shannon's Great Great Grandmother wrote in her ledger in the Bible. It's in the Old Testament in the Book of Psalms. I guess she felt it was important enough to make sure she remembered it, so she wrote it down. I always wondered what Shannon would have thought if he actually knew where "God's Presence" came from.
I did have the Much Music band documentary on BLind Melon on VHS(It went up in a house fire). It was a half hour show called Spotlight. It covered the band up to the point of what was to be their new release "Soup". It did have where Shannon said he would have been a better christian if not for drugs and alcohol. I really liked that doc. it had a couple vids at the end. But what was cool was that some of the interviews(to promote the new cd) was done while Rogers and Glen made soup with the MuchMusic VG & Rogers was getting his hands all in it and everything!! well thats it for now be well, TT

What chapter and verse of Pslams would that be tripticket? I am curious?
This past year I ran across a verse in Psalms that Peter Tosh used in one of his songs.

Hang on Ryan, I'll get back to you on Chapter and verse. I just did some research and found the dates that the Blind Melon Spotlight was aired on MuchMusic. Now, i think that there were two versions. One to promote Soup, and one after Shannon died. Both are quite similar, but the second is condensed slightly to make way for new interviews with Rogers discussing the reasons behind Nico. The dates are: September 23rd, 1995 Dec. 13, 1995 and the Nico one in Jan 7, 1997 Now they had a couple Much USA dates too, so I am not sure what was aired there Those dates are: Oct 22nd 1995 & Jan 14 1996.
I am beginning to wonder if the soup making w/ Glen and Rogers was on that show. I know it was on the VHS that went up in smoke. I'd really like to get ahold of those two spotlight shows!!!

OK So it begins Psalms 139 verse 7. The very first paragraph in "God's Presents" does not seem to be there though. Either Shannon or his Great great grandmother took some liberties w/ the composition. Not sure which version of the Bible she woulda been using either. There are so many different versions(interpretations) of the Bible that the phrasing aren't exact but still have the same message. If you were to look at some other versions of Psalms you may find other parts of "God's Presents" to match. I used Goolge to look at the different versions of 139. Anyway, it was a discovery that i thought a few Melonheads would not have known.(i'm not a Bible push'n man, just into some research)
HA!!! speaking of discovery. U know how i found out about the secret song?....some one should start a new "secret song" thread....hint hint...anyone

I always have to look up any sort of scriptural reference that comes up... This is the "fearfully and wonderfully made" passage that I've always been rather fond of! Of course, for me, there's nothing quite like 1 Corinthians, Chapter 13, in the King James translation. Look that one up

Hey there Charity, Yes, the fearfully wonderfully made! Those exact words are actually used by a band that lives just minutes from me here in Eastern Canada. They are called Three Season Ant. They have a myspace. 1 Corinthians 13; yes, that is the one used for weddings, right? It describes all of what love is and what love is not. Good words to live by~
