I am thinking about getting a tattoo on my lower back. I want a picture of Shannon, with a bee incorporated somehow. Does anybody have any good design ideas? If not I'll come up with something, but I thought I'd ask. I turn 18 January 15th, so I'll probably have it done sometime soon after that. I want it to be fairly big. If you have any ideas, please email me at falserhythms@yahoo.com. Thanks!

I think it might be cool to get Shannon with a halo of bees

Here is an option but it doesnt have bees... i know that even though the Bee Girl helped get Blind Melon famous, the band members hated her for it... there are numerous articles on Ryan's website saying how band members wanted the Bee Girl dead... that's why i dislike the association with Blind Melon and bee's, cause one video shouldnt shape their image...

I sketched it by looking at one of the vigil pics... I love the old psychedelic artists like Wes Wilson, and i love how he makes shapes using typography... the short answer - YES, i was extremely bored last night...haha

Not kill the actual Bee Girl, but the character... There are a couple of articles which will be put on Hightimes' and Ryan's article site called "Kill The Bee Girl - Thorn confesses he wants the bee girl mascot dead", "The Bee Girl Is Dead" and "Bee Girl Blues"... and on a number of occasions in interviews band members say things alluding to the fact they dont want to be associated with the Bee Girl or the No Rain video during promotions of the Soup album... Rogers or Shannon i remember jokingly said they wish they hadnt written the song because it labelled the band and joined them to the bee girl and the fame that came along with the prospect of being known as one hit wonders...

That design is amazing, ......and its silly because i was looking at vigil pics the other night and thinking to myself that i should make a sketch of that same thing! haha silly.
However, i am faaar too lazy to make sketches lately
I would get that tattooed though, but not the same way you drew it, i'd draw it out myself one day because im a fusspot.
True!
Anyhoons thats amazin.
And that idea of the halo of bees is amazing too!

I have to recommend researching tattoo artists before you get your tat. I assume you want the tattoo to be done in a portrait style and not every tattoo artist is cut out for that style of tattooing. If you haven't already chosen an artist you may want to go to all the different shops in your area and ask to look at the portfolios of the artists. Make sure the artist has really good portrait style tattoos...this should include the photo that the tattoo was done from so you can do a side by side comparison. I used to work in a tattoo shop and I've seen so many people with so many crappy portrait tattoos. It's really important that the artist is able to mirror the picture they are working from. Not just any person who does tats can pull it off. It has to be someone who is extremely accurate at tattooing realistic portraits. It's very difficult to pull it off. I'm sure you want the tat to be a fitting tribute to Shannon so even if it costs a little more money to go to an excellent artist, it will really be worth it for you to shell out the money.

thanks for the advice. there is actually only one tattoo shop where i live, and ive checked out the shop, but i havent had a chance to talk to anyone yet. there is a good shop about 1 1/2 hours away from here, so i might consider going there.

Where do you live in PA? If going to Baltimore or D.C. is an option for you I might be able to recommend some good shops or artists.
