"glen graham grew up in my hometown and rogers stevens and brad smith grew up about 10 minutes down the road....one of the most surreal experiences of my life was watching them play Galaxie and then smoking a joint with them in the house everyone always hung out at in columbus AFTER they had made it big...there was a writer from Rolling Stone there as well as the dude from Candlebox (which I didnt consider that big of a deal)
and they were very down to earth, decent people. Musicians who played for the love of music and just *happened* to get famous...but never acted like "stars." Once, in high school, a friend and I drove 6 hours to new orleans from north MS for a blind melon show...only to get stopped at the door and get told the show was sold out....about this time Chris Thorn comes walking down the alley beside the club and my buddy says "chris...we just drove from columbus, mississippi and cant get in" and chris says "mississippi hm? let em in, man"...then they rocked our balls off. great night." The Blastman
Yeah there are some great stories on there. Good stuff Boba.
